EC Boys Golf Improves To 3-0; Girls Golf Now 2-0

The Ellwood City boys and girls golf teams are both off to unbeaten starts to their 2026 seasons.

The Wolverines boys team fired a third consecutive sub-200 team round on Tuesday afternoon at Del Mar, knocking off Shenango 192-227.

Gino Biondi finished with team best round of 34 (-2) while Cam Keller (37, +1) and Luca Carsele (39, +3) finished with sub-40 rounds Tuesday.

The boys golf team opened up its regular season Friday in record style, defeating New Castle 183-245 at Del Mar GC. The effort tied the team course record which was set in 1996 and matched again last year (2025). Five Wolverines shot sub-40 with the trio of Biondi, Carsele, and Adam Jeffcoat finishing with rounds of 36. Cam Keller (37, +1) and Dante Venezie (38, +2) joined in posting rounds to help tie the team record.

The boys golf team earned a road victory on Monday, defeating Union 195-252 at Sylvan Heights. The team (3-0 Overall) next faces rival Riverside at Connoqunessing Country Club on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m.

The Lady Wolverines improved to 2-0 on the regular season with a 206-213 victory over Seton-LaSalle on Tuesday at Del Mar GC. Ava Trputec and Rylee Prestopine shared team best efforts with rounds of 48 in the victory. The girls golf team will next host Blackhawk at Del Mar GC on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
