Bernstine to Provide Monthly Legislative Updates on WKST’s Morning Show with Ken Hlebovy

HARRISBURG – Rep. 2018 Holy Redeemer Bazaar

The Holy Redeemer Bazaar is returning for its 52nd annual event starting tomorrow Aug. 1 and concluding on Aug. 4 at the corner of Lawrence Avenue and Third Street. Townspeople can’t wait for this annual event. The food, the fun and the fireworks make the Bazaar a favorite. The weekend-long Bazaar is hosted on the grounds of The Holy Redeemer Parish every summer. Featuring more than 50 vendor booths, carnival rides, entertainment and drawings for prizes. The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County will be hosting a Basic Training Class beginning Fall 2018. There will be Open House Informational Meetings to discuss that Training Class along with addressing any questions candidates may have. The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Lincoln High Class of 1954 Held Reunions in Review

Members and guests of the Lincoln High Class of 1954 held their 2018 “81 and Still Having Fun” annual party on Saturday July 14, at the Ellwood City Saxon Club. Festivities began at 3 p.m. as arrivals were greeted at the entrance by the welcome sign “Reunions in Review.” Recalling Christmas in July, dressed in her original elf outfit, Ilene Gardner photographed each person fronting a large mural of the Lincoln High School Building as they were registered by Arlene “Pinky” Maielli and Ellie Paul. Council Votes 5-0 for New Interim Borough Manager

Ellwood City Council voted 5-0 on Thursday night to name a previous Borough Manager Joseph Cioffi, as the interim manager. Council members Rob Brough and Marilyn Mancini were absent from the special meeting. Cioffi, will be paid $30 per hour and will work a full-time shift from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday to Friday, starting next week. Since stepping down as manager, Cioffi has remained involved locally, serving for a time as parks and recreation director and as the playgrounds director, among other positions.
