Route 588 Road Slide Repair Starts This Week in North Sewickley Township

PennDOT announced slide repair work on Bennetts Run Road (Route 588) in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County, will begin Monday, March 14 weather permitting. Slide repair work, requiring the closure of a portion of Bennetts Run Road between River Road and 7th Street will begin at approximately 9 a.m. Monday morning. Through traffic will be prohibited around-the-clock as crews conduct slide repair, pavement restoration, and drainage improvement work through mid-May. Traffic will be detoured. Ellwood City Community Garden Seeking Volunteers

The Ellwood City Community Garden is seeking volunteers and donors for its 2022 growing season. The Ellwood City Community Garden, located at 327 Sims Street, is a collaborative project between the Borough of Ellwood City, the local food bank, and many community volunteers and local businesses. The garden is composed of raised beds, each planted, tended to, and harvested by a local family or organization. The harvest is donated to the local food bank in an effort to increase access to fresh, nutrient-dense produce for community members in need. Coach Bradley spoke on his previous achievements as coach at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) and Ambridge. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will host its public meeting on Monday, March 14, 2022. This month’s guest speaker will be Thomas Woodske. Tom Woodske was born and raised in New Brighton, Pa, now resides in Franklin Township. He had a long career leading economic and community development projects for Duquesne Light Company, with the State of Pennsylvania, Beaver County, and the Gateway Rehabilitation Center. Portersville Mother Selected To Speak at “HER-story” Woman’s Conference

Jehovah’s Witnesses Reach Butler County Residents With a Modified Ministry

Upon returning from volunteering abroad, Jennifer Eirhart, her husband and two teenage children continued to experience the joy of giving by sharing comfort and hope from the scriptures with their community in Butler, Pa. According to information made available by the township, Waste Management pulled their dumpsters yesterday at Franklin Township without any notice. Aiken Refuse has agreed to provide the new service. ECASD Bocce Team to Compete in Regional Playoff

“Come on, Now” Who wouldn’t want to be on or support the Ellwood City Area School District’s Bocce Team? Since 2017, the team has been growing and succeeding. In fact, the team is headed to SRU today to compete for the regional playoff after taking 1st place and the gold medal in section playoffs. They defeated Shenango—last year’s gold medal team—12 to 3.
