Sesti, Roth Each Will Continue Athletics Careers at Collegiate Level

Two Ellwood City student athletes have signed letters of intent this week. Lincoln High School seniors Milo Sesti and Alexander Roth have each signed letters of intent this week to continue their respective athletic careers at the collegiate level. Sesti has signed his athletic letter of intent to continue his golfing career at California State University, according to Curtis Agostinelli, Ellwood City athletic director, while Roth has decided to continue his athletic and academic career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. VIDEO: Rescue Crews Respond To Man Over Hillside In Ellwood City

Rescue crews spent hours overnight searching for a man who reportedly went over a hillside in Lawrence County. A KDKA news video says 34-year-old victim was shot in the chest and was found by first responders. Rescue crews spent hours overnight searching for the man who reportedly went over a hillside on Wampum Avenue.

PHOTO: Ellwood Area Education Association Awards Two Scholarships

The Ellwood Area Education Association recently awarded two scholarships to Lincoln High School seniors Emma Wise and Kyla Servick The scholarships are to be used toward their post-secondary expenses. Emma is the daughter of Gina and Ray Wise and will be attending Penn State University, University Park. Kyla is the daughter of Jolene Krupa and Sam Servick and will be attending Westminster College. Presenting the scholarships to the young ladies is Mrs. Heather Brest, a math teacher at Lincoln and the chair of the EAEA Scholarship Committee.

Ellwood City Italian American Heritage Foundation To Meet Friday

The Ellwood City Italian American Heritage Foundation (ECIAHF) will meet this Friday, May 27th at 10:00 a.m. Elwood City Italian American Heritage Foundation is a non-profit special community-based initiative involving Italian ethnic research and genealogy. The focus of the group is on sharing Ellwood City Area Italian Family heritage information. Rocky Bleier to Speak at The Moving Wall in Ellwood City

Former Pittsburgh Steeler star running back and Vietnam veteran, Robert Patrick “Rocky” Bleier, will be the featured speaker at the opening ceremony for The Moving Wall to be displayed in Ellwood City’s Ewing Park from August 18 to 22, 2022. Lawrence County CTC Unveiling Replica Trolley On Tuesday

The Lawrence County Career and Technical Center (LCCTC) is unveiling a replica of the original 1908 Harmony Short Line Trolley on Tuesday, May 24th at 1:00 p.m. The festivities will include staff and students. The trolley replica, manufactured at LCCTC for the Ellwood City Area Historical Society, will then move to Ellwood City, to be used by the Historical Society. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

DRUG POSSESSION: Deven Brown, 23, of Ellwood City, is charged with Drug Possession after a sobriety checkpoint stop on April 29 on Lawrence Avenue. The Borough of Ellwood City has announced a vacancy exists on the Ellwood City Civil Service Commission.
