Wampum American Legion Offering Its All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast

The Wampum American Legion is starting it’s all-you-can-eat Breakfast event again on Saturday, March 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event is scheduled to take place at the Legion club located at 436 Beaver Street, Wampum, PA 16157. The menu features scrambled eggs, home fries, french toast, sausage, biscuits & gravy, bacon, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice. Ellwood City Native Receives CoSIDA University Achievement Award

Ellwood City native Doug Tammaro has received the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) University Division Achievement Award. Tammaro, the Arizona State Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, has been recognized as the top Sports Information Director at the NCAA Division I level as a part of CoSIDA’s weeklong Special Awards announcement. The award is given annually to the associate or assistant director in the sports information field who have made outstanding contributions to the field of sports information. Everett Bleakney, President of the Ellwood City Historical Society, announced Monday night at the monthly board meeting a new effort to collect local church histories. “It is important and vital to enlarge the collected information because it paints a picture of families that settled and lived in the community of Ellwood City,” said Bleakney. The Slippery Rock Area School Board has been selected as a University of Pittsburgh Tri‐State School Study Council D. Richard Wynn Distinguished School Board. The D. Ellwood City Band Bash to Benefit Fourth of July Fireworks

The Ellwood City Band Bash is back!!! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Koehler Brewery Pub. “I’m super excited to be bringing the band bash back to Koehler Brewery where it started,” said event organizer Eric Rayner. “Back in February 2020 right before the pandemic hit we had what we called the fireworks fundraiser which later became the band bash. Borough Council Adopts Budget Payment Plan for Utility Accounts

Ellwood City Borough Council adopted Resolution #2004-4 approving a budget payment plan for utility accounts under the following provisions: Customers may complete the application form provided by the Borough during the annual open enrollment period from the third Monday in March through the third Friday in April. The first budget-billing amount will appear on the May utility bill. The maximum budget periods will be twelve (12) months with all balances due to be settled in the 12th month. The Easter Bunny Is Back. The 27th Annual community Easter Egg Hunt is set to return to an in-person event in April! After COVID safety concerns cancelled the event entirely in 2020 and later forced a drive-thru only event in 2021, the event will return to Ewing Park on Saturday, April 9, 2022. “We are working on so much to make up for the two years we didn’t get to hold our event,” says committee member Kathy Brenner. FORMER ELLWOOD CITY MAN CHARGED WITH WITNESS RETALIATION: A former Ellwood City man who is serving a federal prison sentence has been indicted by a federal grand jury for witness retaliation, United States Attorney Cindy K.
