Santa Claus Will Be Coming To Franklin Township

On Sunday, December 20th, Santa Claus will be proudly escorted by the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department to see all of the good girls in boys in the township. The tour will begin in Tomica Springs at noon on Sunday. Listen for the sirens and look for the flashing red lights to announce Santas arrival. When the truck comes to a stop, please come see Santa on the fire engine and get a treat from Santa himself and his elf. N.O.W. Project Plans December Food Distribution

Jubilee Ministries International (JMI) Nourishing Others Well-being Project (N.O.W.) along with The Christian Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania (CCCWP) is sponsoring a Massive Drive-Thru Food Giveaway for UP TO 2,500 families on Saturday, December 12th, 2020. Jubilee Ministries International N.O.W. Project and CCCWP will distribute an abundance of quality food boxes for almost 2,500 families. The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the surge in numbers of COVID-19 cases in our area, the Ellwood City Area Public Library will be joining other public libraries in western Pennsylvania and will suspend in-person visits beginning Tuesday, November 24. Wurtemburg United Methodist Church is continuing their “Quarters To-Go” soup series this month! The December Soup “Quarts To-Go” at Wurtemburg United Methodist Church will be Saturday, December 12 with serving hours from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (or until sold out.) Chamber Hosting Virtual Ugly Sweater 5K Fun Run

If you’ve always dreamed of doing a 5K but felt intimidated, this is your time. The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its first-ever Ugly Sweater 5K Fun Run virtually. Participants can run, walk, swim, treadmill, or bike from the location of their choice. It’s freedom and fun at your own pace. And to top off the fun, all participants will receive a long-sleeve tech shirt, finisher medal and swag bag. Chamber of Commerce Hosting Reindeer Route

Don’t miss your chance to take a ride on the Reindeer Route. With Covid-19 cases rising, the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce was tasked to think outside of the box as how to continue the celebration of Christmas. After a brainstorming session, the Reindeer Route was the answer. Franklin Township has announced a Riverside Christmas Angel Collection event in hopes of collecting items in need for all ages.  All items need to be new The collection is in need of the following: Toys for all ages, sheet sets, toiletry & hygiene products, Axe body care, Old Spice body care, Bath and Body Works items, shampoos, conditioners, toothbrushes, make-up, socks for kids Pk-12th, hand sanitizer singles or family size, and gift cards in any amount (Aldi, Giant Eagle, Walmart, fast food, local restaurant, local businesses).
