You Gotta Regatta: Moraine State Park Regatta Returns In August

PORTERSVILLE, PA – The Moraine State Park Regatta is scheduled for August 6-8, 2021.

This year’s regatta will look different from past years, as event organizers decided to refresh the event with a renewed focus on eco-recreation and promoting Moraine State Park. At a time when people are staying close Moraine State Park Regatta 2021 to home, and enjoying the outdoors even more with their families, the regatta’s goal is to give people from all  over the region an opportunity to try different forms of outdoor recreational activities at the park.

The event is FREE to attend.

Event organizers are planning to follow all local, state, and federal Covid-19 mitigation requirements and recommendations.

The Moraine State Park Regatta is the region’s premiere, family-friendly, free eco-recreational event. The purpose is to promote Moraine State Park, located on the south shore of Lake Arthur, and formerly called Regatta at Lake Arthur.

Some planned highlights of the event include sailing races, vendor marketplace, 5k trail race, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, eco-tours, children’s activities, and a butterfly release.

The regatta’s goal is to give people from all over the region an opportunity to try different forms of outdoor recreational activities at the park.

The 2020 event was intended to be a celebration of Moraine State Park’s 50th Anniversary, but was cancelled due to the global pandemic.  This year, the regatta celebrates as 50+1!

In 2019, the event was featured on every local television channel, numerous radio stations, every local newspaper, billboards, and magazines. An event of this magnitude can only be produced because of the support of numerous sponsors, and each partnership can be completely customized.

Vendors are wanted. If you create and sell handmade items or own a business or run an organization that could benefit from interaction with the public, vendor spaces, specifically for specialty vendors (general food vendor applications are no longer being accepted at this time) are open now. Some examples of the types of vendors we can still accept: bike shops, childcare services, chiropractors, kayak outfitters, home improvement companies, insurance agents, crafters, pet-related services, specialty foods, and nonprofits.
