Moraine State Park Regatta Returns August 2nd & 3rd

(Portersville, PA) – Butler County’s signature summer event, The Moraine State Park Regatta, returns August 2nd and 3rd.

The annual weekend-long event connects thousands of people with the outdoors through free, hands-on environmental education and eco-recreational activities, including paddleboarding, fishing, archery, and yoga. Instructors include representation from Butler-based organizations Studio Z Yoga, SurfSUP Adventures, and the Butler Outdoors Club.

Chains or Dye Disc Golf & Pittsburgh Flying Disc will invite visitors to learn more about the sport with hands-on recreation opportunities. Returning favorites include the Butterfly Release, the U.S. Army’s rock climbing wall, the 5k trail run/ walk, and dog-friendly paddleboarding sessions.

Live music, and the vendor marketplace will also return, featuring local talent and businesses.

The Regatta draws outdoor enthusiasts from across the region and has a great economic impact on the County.

“The Regatta strengthens the regional economy by drawing an average of 20,000 visitors annually, many from surrounding counties and out of state,” said Rick Yarosz, Experience Butler County Director of Tourism Development and Regatta Board “We estimate that the Regatta brings over $180,000 in annual economic impact, supporting jobs, small businesses, and community vitality.”
