Spotted Lanternfly Workshop Planned

An upcoming FREE workshop presented by the Beaver County Conservation District will provide information about the alien invader, the Spotted Lanternfly, and how to reduce the problems caused by this non-native invasive pest. LHS Pie Festival, Riverside Panther Night Scheduled This Week

Two local events this week kick off the back to school season and highlight the fall sports season. Calvin Presbyterian Church To Host GriefShare Program

Calvin Presbyterian Church will once again host a 13-week GriefShare program this fall each Sunday from 1:30-3:30 beginning September 12 and concluding December 5. We will host a special program, “Surviving the Holidays”, on November 7. No matter what the circumstances, grief recovery is a painful process. A GriefShare seminar/support group is being hosted and sponsored by Calvin Presbyterian Church, with Ginny Brest as the facilitator. Ellwood City Historical Society Now Taking Reservations For Annual Fund Drive In September

Dinner reservations are being accepted for the Ellwood City Historical Society’s Annual Fund Drive on Monday, Sept.13, at Connoquenessing Country Club. Menu choices are Tuscan chicken stuffed with ham, spinach and mozzarella cheese in a sun-dried tomato sauce; breaded cod piccata with artichokes, onion, capers and tomato white lemon burre; and sirloin medallions with peppers, onions and mushrooms. RESULTS: 2021 Delmar Golf Course Championship

The annual Delmar Golf Course Club Championship was held Saturday July 31, and Sunday August 1, 2021, which consisted of over 40 Delmar members. Here are the results from the 2021 Championship. Lino Simeoni collected his 2nd title with a 2 and 1 victory over Brad Linville in the championship bracket. Ellwood City golf team Senior and team Captain Milo Sesti claimed the A-Flight championship with a 3 and 2 victory over Rosie Tammaro. PHOTOS: Franklin Township 8th Annual National Night Out

Franklin Township celebrated and held their 8th Annual National Night Out Event Tuesday evening under warm, sunny skies at the Franklin Plaza in Ellwood City. The event featured free activities for children, fire safety, CPR training, prize giveaways, and food vendors. The popular Penguins mascot Iceburgh also made his appearance bringing joy to all those in attendance. The National Night Out initiative began in 1984 in an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
