Last Wander Ellwood of Season Set For Wednesday

Don’t forget about the last Wander Ellwood event of the year Wednesday, October 5 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The event will feature music by Chad Goldbach 5 to 7, vendors on the streets, and local businesses that will be open a little later than normal and offering specials. In addition, open containers will be allowed on the streets during the event.

The Wander Ellwood event was held the first Wednesday of every month starting in June of 2022 and it spans Fifth Street from Crescent Avenue to Spring Avenue and Lawrence Avenue from Fourth Street to Eighth Street.

“It was a collaboration of numerous organizations and offices … Chamber, Council, ERC, ECCE and it was a great success,” said Brad Ovial, Ellwood City Borough councilman and president of Ellwood City Revitilization (ECR). “We are all very happy with the results.”

Ovial said the feedback has been positive from businesses, vendors, and participants.

What to expect?

Ovial said to expect another great night of food, entertainment and upwards of 45 vendors.

Wrap up meeting within a couple of weeks of the last event to determine the frequency of the event for next year.

As part of the collaboration between government offices and local organizations, ECCE sponsored the entertainment for the first three Wander Ellwood events as part of the Summer Concert Series. Steel Mill Rising (June 1st), Morgan Gruber (July 6th), and The D-Tour Band (August 3rd) perfomred at the Community Plaza from 5:30-7:30pm. Bagpiper Bryan Crable was a “wandering piper” and walked around town on July 6th. ECR sponsored The Leftovers who performed September 7th and the Chamber is sponsoring Chad Goldbach who is performing October 5th.

Ovial said Wander Ellwood will certainly be back next year. The committee will decide what the future will hold for the event.

“There will be a wrap up meeting within a couple of weeks of the last event to determine the frequency of the event for next year,” Ovial said.
