Calvin Presbyterian Church To Host GriefShare Program

Calvin Presbyterian Church will once again host a 13-week GriefShare program this winter each Sunday beginning February 14 and concluding May 23. The program will take place each Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 pm. The program will not meet on Easter (April 4) or Mother’s Day (May 9) and is sponsored by Calvin Presbyterian Church, with Ginny Brest as the facilitator. The first session is scheduled for Sunday, February 14 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The support group meets in the lower-level dining room of the church, observing CDC guidelines. Wolves Club Den 11 Holds Annual Memorial Tribute

The spirit of Wolves Club Den II founders was honored at a Holy Redeemer Parish Sunday Mass followed by breakfast at Carusone’s in Ellwood City, PA.  The tribute took place on November 1, 2020. At the breakfast, President Mike DeOtto welcomed all those in attendance and recognized both the widows and board members present. A moment of silence was held for Tony Petracolla, – deceased former member. In his comments, Mr. DeOtto welcomed the opportunity to pay tribute to those Wolves Club members that have gone before us. Social Distancing Santa to Appear in Ellport

A ‘socially distancing’ Santa Claus will be making a special appearance in Ellport this weekend. Longtime Santa for the Ellwood City area Mac McAnallen will be hosting an event at 509 Golf Avenue in Ellport.  Santa will be hosting children on his deck, talking gifts and wishes for this Christmas. “I enjoy the children’s expressions and in the feeling I get doing so,” said McAnallen. Christ Presbyterian Hosting Third Thursday Community Meal

Christ Presbyterian Church will be hosting its Third Thursday Community Meal tonight at 4 p.m. and will serve the community until the food runs out. The church welcomes anyone who feels like they need a home-cooked meal. There is no requirement or proof of need. The church has been hosting this monthly meal since the first one in September. According to Michelle Sutton, deacon at the church, the community gathering has been a success serving on average 120 people per month.
