Riverside School District To Host Veterans Day Assembly

On Wednesday, Riverside High School will host its annual Veterans Day Assembly. The assembly this year will honor the four Riverside young men who lost their lives in Vietnam. In the fall of 2019, a Riverside graduate visited Riverside High School, asking about our Riverside boys who lost their lives in Vietnam. He explained that he was participating in the Honor Flight program that provides transportation for Vietnam veterans to visit the memorial in Washington DC, and he wanted to be sure to know all their names. Lincoln High School To Offer European Trip In Summer 2024

Lincoln High School is planning an educational European tour for the summer of 2024. Students will experience Paris, Provence, and Barcelona, Spain, over a 10 day trip according to Jason Bell, Spanish Teacher at Lincoln. The trip is open to all students who are currently enrolled in 9th through 12th grade. Bell and Mrs. Mandy Long will chaperon the trip coordinated with EF Tours, the district educational travel partner. Lawrence County CTC Announces “Monster Mash” Collaboration

The Lawrence County CTC has announced their Commercial Arts program has recently partnered with the HOPE Center for Arts and Technology (HOPE CAT) in Sharon, PA for “Monster Mash” a collaborative exhibition with local elementary students. HOPE CAT collected drawings from elementary artists of monsters they dreamed up. Then a call to artists went out to over 50 professional artists to recreate the child’s monsters in their own style. Scholarships to be Awarded by Ellwood City Community Health Foundation

The Ellwood City Community Health Foundation (ECCHF) has been approved to offer scholarships to individuals who enroll in higher education to pursue a career in the medical field. The Foundation is offering four scholarships for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year. Two scholarships will be given for Financial Need and two for Scholastic Achievement. Each scholarship will be given for four years as along as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 2.0 at the end of each semester. Helling Stadium to Open to Guests, Spectators, Athletes for Homecoming Game

Ellwood City Area School District will open the gates to the newly renovated Helling Stadium on Friday, October 14 in its first home game of the season against Beaver Falls. ECASD Board of Directors Approves Bids for the Perry School Project

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors voted to approve bids for the Perry School project with a total bid summary cost of $10,348,578.00—a cost which includes an asbestos package. Engineers from HHSDR and CJL Engineering presented the bids and options during Thursday’s regular meeting. Included in the project will be all new electrical, HVAC, plumbing, asbestos removal, a new roof, a four-classroom addition, a nurse suite addition, new flooring, painting, new windows, fixture upgrades, and other necessary construction to bring the 1933 building up to code. Dr. Nick Neupauer, an Ellwood City native and the longest-serving chief executive officer in the 57-year history of Butler County Community College, will receive on Wednesday an inaugural leadership award named after a longtime Lawrence County resident. Ellwood City School District Closed Friday For District-Wide Safety Training

The Ellwood City Area School District will be closed on Friday, September 2nd for a district-wide safety training.
