Lincoln High School Pie Festival, Riverside Panther Night This Week!

Both Ellwood City and Riverside school districts will kick off their respective back to school seasons with community events on Thursday, August 25th. Ellwood City will host its annual Lincoln High School Marching Blue Band Pie Festival at the high school gymnasium. Doors for the Pie Festival open at 6:00 p.m., and the show starts at 7:00 p.m.. The band will perform selections from their 2022 pre-game and halftime shows, all fall sports teams will be introduced, and you can eat pie. Bernstine Introduces Legislation to Enhance Classroom Safety

HARRISBURG – After the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, where children and educators were killed at an elementary school, Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler, Lawrence) has introduced legislation to enhance the safety of children and staff while on school property. “Mass murderers are often attracted to “soft targets” where they know victims are not armed,” said Bernstine. “According to the Crime Prevention Resource Center, there has not been a single mass shooting in a school where staff were clearly allowed to carry a firearm.” House Bill 2771 would allow school employees who possess a valid Pennsylvania concealed carry permit to be…

BC3 To Introduce Three STEM Programs This Fall

Butler County Community College’s three new programs this fall are within its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics division and include two intended to lead to a doctor of pharmacy degree from Duquesne University. Expanded Duquesne University-track programs in biological science and in chemistry will join existing BC3 transfer programs in biological science and in chemistry and bring BC3’s associate degree selections in STEM in the 2022-2023 academic year to 15. The Ellwood City Area School District will be hosting a ‘Back To School’ event featuring a free pasta dinner and speech by world renowned speaker, Josh Shipp. The FREE event will be held on Monday, August 22nd at the Lincoln High School Cafeteria. Ellwood City Area School District Provides Construction Update

In advance of the back to school season, the Ellwood City Area School District has provided an update to various construction projects on school grounds. According to the district website, the update is to provide the community with current information regarding the capital improvement projects that are underway throughout Ellwood City Area School District.  The focus of the projects is to create a safer learning environment for our students and staff. Sainato: More Than $3 Million Awarded To Fund Lawrence County Early Education Programs

Lawrence County early education programs are receiving more than $3 million in funding to bolster resources for area preschoolers, state Rep. Chris Sainato announced today. Kindergarten is such an exciting year full of new experiences for both our students and their families! Prior to the first official day of school for the 2022-2023 year, Riverside Beaver County School District has announced Kindergarten Teach Assignments and Kindergarten Orientation.
