Lincoln High School Top Nine & Graduating Class of 2023

The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2023 will receive their diplomas Thursday, June 1st, during a ceremony scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park.

Lincoln High School is graduating 89 students with nine students receiving high honors.

Students will follow 2022-23 classes for the last time on Wednesday. A senior walk thru all buildings is also scheduled for Wednesday.

Gianna Marie Fotia, daughter of Joe and Lisa Fotia. Gianna plans to attend Robert Morris University to major in Statistics and Data Science. Gianna is a Member of National Honor Society, President of French Club, Member of Student Council, Member of Club Hope, Member of Ellwood City Culture Club, Participant in LHS Peer Leadership and Mentorship Program. Madylin Maron Galbreath is the daughter of Kathy Galbreath. Madylin plans to attend Grove City College to pursue a career as a child advocacy lawyer. Madylin’s activities include: Founder of child abuse awareness club, KidsToo, 4-year varsity golf and tennis athlete, Junior/Senior Class Treasurer, Senior High Student Council President, Ellwood City Culture Club Treasurer, National Honor Society Treasurer, Mock Trial, National Academic Games competitor for eight years and named National Outstanding Senior, Peer Leadership, Ellwood City Television (ECTV) news anchor, Unified Bocce Club member, team qualified for State Playoffs two consecutive years, finished 3rd at PIAA State Championships 2023, Girls Golf WPIAL Finalist, Girls Tennis WPIAL Section Singles Semi-Finalist. Aliya Michelle Garroway, daughter of Bill and Nicole Garroway. Aliya plans to attend Saint Francis University to major in Accounting. Aliya’s activities include: Softball, basketball, National Honor Society, Student Council, German Club.
Her achievements include: Tri County Principals and Athletic Directors Scholarship, Justin David Hart Memorial Scholarship, and Saint Francis University Founders’ Scholarship

Morgan Elizabeth Hooker, daughter of Brian and Kathy Hooker. MOrgan plans to attend Robert Morris University with a goal of becoming a mathamatician. Morgans activities include: National Honor Society, Varsity Volleyball (Co-Captain), Senior High Student Council (Dance Co-Coordinator), Spanish Club, and EC3. Morgan’s achievements include: High Honor Graduate, RMU Merit Scholarship, RMU Honors Program, RMU Colonial Legacy Scholarship, RBCEA Award, and RIV-ELL Entrepreneurship Certificate.

Jack Henry Landis, son of Brad and Shannon Landis. Jack plans to pursue a 4-year engineering degree at Penn State University to become a chemical engineer. Jack’s activities include: President of Ellwood City Culture Club (EC3), Vice President of National Honor Society, Member of German Club, Member of Peer Mentorship, Pizza Joe’s Ellwood City Employee, and Easter Egg Hunt Volunteer. Jack’s achievements include: Hungarian Home Scholarship, Penn State Presidential Scholarship, High Honor Graduate, 11th and 12th Grade Leadership Award, Senior Outstanding English Award, Presidents Education Award, and Lions Club September Student of the Month.

Ryan Terry Odom, son of Roger and Deepa Odom. Ryan plans to attend University of Pittsburgh to become a computer engineer. Ryan’s activities include: Esports Club (Vice-President), International Showcase, Jazz Band, Marching Band (Operation Manager), National Honor Society, Soccer, Tennis, Unified Sports Club (Bocce): 11 (Captain), 12 (Co-Captain), Volleyball (Co-Captain), and Research Advisor for Thinkhro.org (A nonprofit). Ryan’s achievements include: Howell & Lois Williams English Scholarship, Nicholas N. Nixon and Anne M. Nixon Engineering Award, and Tuition Exchange Scholarship – University of Pittsburgh (full tuition).

Hunter James Rock, son of James and Jodi Rock. Hunter plans to serve as an Officer in the Marine Corps and attend the Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Hunter’s activities include: Boy Scout Troop 806 (Various), Keystone Boys State (Party Chairman, Lt. Col. Hayden Zachary Slade, son of Doug and Jennifer Slade. Hayden plans to attend the University of Notre Dame to major in Computer Science and Mathematics. Grady Lincoln Smith, son of Doug and Joanne Smith. Grady plans to attend Gannon University to become a Physician Assistant by attending a 5-year Accelerated Masters Program.
