Bernstine to Host Shredding Event On October 31

HARRISBURG – As a free service to the community, Rep. Ellwood City Boys Cross Country Wins Tri-County Championship

The Ellwood City Varsity Boys Cross Country team collected a championship in the Tri-County meet over the weekend. “My coaching staff and I are so proud of these bunch of young men they been working so hard all summer long it’s all paying off,” said head coach Mark Hall. Ellwood City Borough Council to Meet Tonight: Agenda

Council is set to vote on a motion to authorize Gabrielle Gretch to move forward with the Ellwood City Military Banner project. Riverside Runs Over Rival Ellwood City, 27-12

Riverside used the ground attack to run over the host Wolverines 27-12 Friday night at Helling Stadium. Calvin Hughes led the ground attack for Riverside finishing with 169 yards rushing on 28 carries and a score while quarterback Sam Hughes scored twice on the ground and finished with 41 yards rushing for the victorious Panthers. EC Volleyball Defeats Shenango, Wins MAC Conference

The Ellwood City Girls Volleyball Team are conference champions! The Lady Wolverines defeated Shenango 3-1 Thursday evening, extending their unbeaten season (12-0 overall) and clinching its MAC Conference Championship. “It feels so great to be undefeated section champs, especially when we know we had to battle for some of those matches,” said head coach Jenna Ricciuti. Borough of Ellwood City Hires New Part-Time Police Officer

The Borough of Ellwood City has hired a new part-time police officer. Officer Salvador “Sal” Zepeda started his first day on the job Wednesday after being hired by Ellwood City Borough Council on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Zepeda is the departments third part-time officer. Mayor Anthony Court and Council President George Celli swore in the new officer who started his duties this week.  According to the ECPD, Mayor Court and Council President Celli were instrumental in getting Officer Zepeda hired. BC3 To Begin Spring Semester With Remote, Online Formats for 3 Weeks

(Butler, PA) All Butler County Community College credit courses opening the spring 2021 semester will be delivered by remote or online instruction through Feb. 8 as a precaution with regard to possible changing transmission levels of COVID-19 during the traditional flu season. BC3’s 15-week Session 1 begins Jan. 19. After three weeks, Session 1 courses will transition to their scheduled format. Scheduled formats include face-to-face, blended and hybrid, or the continuation of remote or online instruction. Ellwood City Volleyball Defeats Freedom on Senior Night

The Ellwood City Girls Volleyball team easily dispatched Freedom Tuesday evening to remain undefeated on its season. The girls defeated the visiting Bulldogs (1-8 overall) in straight sets, 25-12, 25-8, and 25-8 to earn its eleventh victory of the season. The victory came on senior night for the girls volleyball team.  The EC junior varsity team also collected a straight set victory (25-11, 25-13) to bring its record to 7-4 on the season.
