The Ellwood City Wolverines girls and boys basketball teams each defeated the Panthers and swept the rivalry doubleheader Tuesday night at Riverside High School. The girls ran away with a 42-12 victory in the first game while the boys used a strong second half to collect its 80-53 victory in the second game of the evening. Borough of Ellwood City Adopts Utility Account Budget Plan

According to a press release made available by the Borough of Ellwood City, a utility account budget plan has been announced. The Ellwood City Borough Council adopted Resolution #2004-4 approving a budget payment plan for utility accounts under the following provisions: Customers may complete the application form provided by the Borough during the annual open enrollment period from the third Monday in March through the third Friday in April. The first budget-billing amount will appear on the May utility bill. The maximum budget periods will be twelve (12) months with all balances due to be settled in the 12th month….

Seven area students recently were selected as “Pride and Promise Award’ winners for the month of February by the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center (LCCTC) during the school’s February Joint Operating Committee meeting. RESISTING ARREST: According to a Pennsylvania State Police Public Information Release Report, Andrew Mercado, 33, of Koppel, was charged with resisting arrest after a warrant was executed on February 10, 2021. According to the report, Mercado was uncooperative and was subsequently charged with resisting arrest at a Wayne Township residence.
