Ride Ellsworth The Trolley To Christmas In The Park This Weekend

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society is sponsoring trolley rides to Christmas in the Park from 6:30 to 8:30 on Friday and Saturday evenings December 12th and 13th. Ellsworth the Trolley will load at the History Center, 310 5th Street for the narrated round trip. The museum will be open for those waiting between tours. Donations will be accepted with equal shares of the proceeds going to the Chamber of Commerce selected recipients for each evening and the Historical Society. Ellsworth will be towed by Shawn Plassmeyer of Plassmeyer Towing who is donating his services for this event.

2025 Halloween Costume Contest Winners Announced

Congratulations to the two top place prize winners of the 2025 EllwoodCity.org Halloween Costume Contest!! The grand prize winner of the EllwoodCity.org contest was 2-year-old Cole Kloos who dressed as a monkey in a claw machine and gained over 400 Likes to earn the first place cash prize. Our second place winner was brothers Bryce and Cayden Mlye who dressed up 1990’s wrestling stars Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage to earn 375 Likes for our second place finish. ECASD Board of Directors Reorganizes, Welcomes Newcomer, Announces Meeting 2026 Dates

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors held its election of officers for 2026 during Thursday’s combined meeting. The meeting began with swearing in re-elected and newly elected board members including: Norman Boots, Claire Fauzey, Kathy Galbreath, Nick Mancini, and Kathy Tillia. Galbreath will serve as board president for 2026. She was nominated by Boots and received votes from Boots, Director Kevin Boariu, Tillia, and Mancini. Board President for 2025, Jennifer Tomon, was also nominated by Director Jean Biehls and received votes from Biehls, Director Erica Gray, and Fauzey.
