ECASD Board of Directors Reorganizes, Welcomes Newcomer, Announces Meeting 2026 Dates

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors held its election of officers for 2026 during Thursday’s combined meeting. The meeting began with swearing in re-elected and newly elected board members including: Norman Boots, Claire Fauzey, Kathy Galbreath, Nick Mancini, and Kathy Tillia. Galbreath will serve as board president for 2026. She was nominated by Boots and received votes from Boots, Director Kevin Boariu, Tillia, and Mancini. Board President for 2025, Jennifer Tomon, was also nominated by Director Jean Biehls and received votes from Biehls, Director Erica Gray, and Fauzey. Wolverines/Panthers Basketball Games Cancelled Tuesday

A hot start by the Wolverines boys basketball team continued after picking up its third victory of the regular season Monday with a 67-64 victory over Laurel, but now winter weather has now forced cancellations of their game Tuesday. According to Lincoln High School, there will be no JV or Varsity basketball games Tuesday night. The originally scheduled game against Western Beaver has been cancelled. ROUNDBALL: Local Teams Tip Off Regular Season

The 1-2 punch of Kaleb Servick and Aaron Lake brought home two victories for the Wolverines boys basketball team and earned each MVP recognition in the Ellwood City Tip-Off Classic over the holiday weekend. The duo combined for 45 points on Friday as Ellwood City routed Rochester 81-39. Servick scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the first half and finished 10-12 shooting.
