Rotary Clubs and Honduras Hope Mission to Host “Walk 4 Water” this April

MARS — Rich-Mar Rotary, Keystone Rotary and the Honduras Hope Mission, a local 501(c)(3) organization, are hosting the Second Annual “Walk 4 Water” event. “Walk 4 Water” is a fundraising program that spreads awareness of the walks women in developing countries must endure to provide their families with water. “Walk 4 Water” will take place at Adams Township Park on Saturday, April 30, 2022. The event is scheduled to start at 10:00 AM and finish up around 11:00 AM. Wolves Club Hosts Dan Hoover During Monthly Meeting

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 met on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, and hosted Dan Hoover, Plant Manager of the Nalco Waters Plant in Ellwood City. Dan is a 30 year employee and covered the special chemical products produced at the plant and how Nalco has been involved in the community the entire time he has been with them. Nalco has been a sponsor for the Gobbler’s Gallop at Riverside as well as the Ellwood City Festival 10k race. The clubs’ motto is Pro Bono Publico: for the good of the public. Bernstine Demands Answers Regarding ‘Gender Unicorn’ Taught to Young Students

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) recently wrote a letter to Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Secretary Noe Ortega about material that is targeted at young students. A slideshow was provided to Bernstine with the “Gender Unicorn” and “Genderbread Person,” which was presented during a seminar at a local university. Ellwood City Borough Council Awards Commendations, Hires Police Officers

The Ellwood City Borough Council awarded two commendations during its regular meeting Monday night. The first commendation was given by Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court and Ellwood City Police Sgt. Michael McBride to Darrell Hunt, a street department employee, who was integral in helping the police department solve a recent criminal case. He witnessed the criminal activity and reported it to police. Court said Hunt’s swift actions led to an arrest of the suspects involved. Wolves Club Meets, Recognizes Efforts In Sign Replacement

The Ellwood City Wolves Club met on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 and recognized the efforts of the Ellwood City Borough, Ellwood City Lions, Ellwood City Rotary and the Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II in replacing the old “Welcome to Ellwood City” sign located at the intersection of RT 288 and Route 65. The clubs raised funds to replace the sign. They had been working on the project for three years and raised $18,200 to make it possible. The Ellwood City Chapter of the Eastern Star is having a Hoagie Sale. Italian Hoagies sell for $7.00 each while Sausage and Pepperoni Rolls sell for $4.00 each. Beaver County Announces 2022 Hazardous Waste Collection Date

Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection event that is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2022. Panthers starter Ronnie Harper pitched a gem Thursday, twirling five shutout innings as Riverside easily blanked the visiting Wolverines 10-0. Harper allowed just three hits. He struck out six batters and did not issue a walk. The Panthers, now 7-1 overall, secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the second inning. Brush Creek Clean Up Scheduled

Franklin Township has announced its Brush Creek Clean-Up date that will take place on Saturday, April 23rd from noon to dusk at the park.
