Richard V. Fisher, 85 of Perry Highway (US Rte 19), Portersville, passed away on Saturday, August 13th 2016 at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, Pennsylvania. Dick was born in New Castle PA on September 14, 1930 to the late Vernon T. and Alda Jane Fisher. He married the former Florence Louise Fisher who preceded him in death on September 25, 2008. Dick was a dairy farmer and lifelong member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, Old Rte 422, Portersville. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Guernsey Breeders Association. Robert H. Symons, 71 of Lilac Hill Lane, Volant PA passed away at his residence the evening of August 10th 2016. Bob was born in New Castle on February 13, 1945 to the late Howard and Myrtle Minshull Symons. He married the former Lucinda “Cindy” McIver on May 31, 1969 who survives him at home. Bob was a 1964 graduate of Union High School and then served in the US Army, serving in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. He drove truck for various trucking companies in the area, before his retirement. Hancox,  74, of the Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony, formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully on  Saturday morning, August 6 2016, in the care of  Amedisys Hospice at Evergreen Nursing Center. She was born in Brookville PA on October 9 1941, to the late  Quay and  Georgia  Conway  Wolfe. Joy graduated from  Brookville High School,  and the Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing, affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh. She was Methodist by faith.   Joy loved reading, sewing, and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin, Steelers, and Pirates fan.  She loved her grandchildren:  Jessica  Olson,  Steven, Nicholas, and Joseph Totin….

Harvey C. Wright II, 57, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on  Tuesday evening,  July 12, 2016 at his residence,  following a lengthy courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Ellwood City on July 10, 1959 to the late Harvey C.   Verna A. Stuart, 77, of New Castle, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday evening, July 6 2016 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband , Wes C. Stuart, who died 27 years ago. She is survived by one son and three daughters: Wes (and Pamela) Stuart, Jr. of West Pittsburg PA; and Lori (and Ken) Aller, of New Castle; and Stacy (and Daymon) Attisano, and Christine (and Michael) Collins, all of Portersville. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. Private services were held at 11:00 A.M….

Martha  A. Nye West, 70, of Thomas Hill Road, Fombell (Franklin Twp.)  passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday evening, June 22 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. George Robert “Bob”  Gilchrist, 92, of Venice Florida, formerly of Ellwood City, passed  away peacefully on  Thursday afternoon, June 2,  2016 at The Summit Assisted Living Center in Venice FL. He was born in Ellwood City on June 21 1923 to the late  Russell T. James A. Nye, 86, of Utica, PA, formerly of Rose Point, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016 at his residence in Utica.
