Samuel J. Dicianno, 77, of Wampum passed away at the VA Community Center in Butler on Sunday, July 22, 2018. Born in New Castle on August 20, 1940, Samuel was the son of the late Julius “Juke” and Antionette “Truny” Scala Dicianno.  Sam retired from B&W where he worked as a ladleman in the melt shop.  Sam was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Erie with his friends. Carol Ann Herko, 61, of Wampum passed away in her residence on Friday, July 20, 2018.  Born in Ellwood City on January 2, 1957, Carol was the daughter of the late Ralph and Sarah Hudspath Redmond.  Carol was strong-willed and fun loving with a vibrant personality.  She cared deeply about her family, friends and especially her patients at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab Center where she worked as an LPN.  She enjoyed going to the casino, but her passion was for the beach. Thomas P. Shaffer, 85 of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 7:27 AM in Butler Township. Born in Franklin Township on November 11, 1932, Thomas was the son of the late Clarence and Hazel Palm Shaffer.  Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Prokop Shaffer in 2001.  He was retired from Matthew where he worked as a millwright.  Thomas was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Ellwood City and veteran of the Navy serving in the Korean War. John A. Folino, 90, of Ellwood City, passed away in his residence on the morning of Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Born in Ellwood City on January 9, 1928 to the late Frederico and Angelina Rizzo Folino, John graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945.  He worked as a Junior Commando at US Steel before leaving to join the 82nd Airborne during WWII.  While serving in the Army, John was both an MP and a paratrooper.  He graduated from Geneva College in 1953 and later attended Bucknell University.  He also worked as a surveyor for the Pennsylvania Turnpike.  John married the…
