Lawrence County Man Pleads Guilty in Scheme to Distribute Cocaine from Mexico

PITTSBURGH – A Lawrence County resident pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and cocaine base, in form commonly known as crack cocaine, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced today. Quantel Searcy, age 49, formerly of New Castle, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty on Friday to one count before United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan. If this case would have proceeded to trial, the government would have proven that Searcy was part of a cocaine-distribution conspiracy focused on New Castle, Pennsylvania. Beaver, Butler County Projects Receive a Combined Total in Excess of $7.2 Million

HARRISBURG – Four Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants, with a combined total of $7.225 million, have been awarded to projects in Beaver and Butler counties, according to Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47) and state Rep. Rob Matzie (D-16). Brooks, Vogel Announce $3.5 Million Grant to Create Local Jobs at Steelite

LAWRENCE – Sens. Michele Brooks (R-50) and Elder Vogel (R-47) announced a $3.5 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant to facilitate the expansion of the Steelite International facility, which will contribute to the economic strengths of Neshannock Township, the City of New Castle and surrounding areas. The project entails the formation of a 55,000-square-foot, pre-engineered steel building in Neshannock Township. Ellwood City Wolves Club October Meeting Recap

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II met on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Connequenessing Country Club. The Wolves Club, in conjunction with the Ellwood City Lions and the Rotary Clubs, host the Annual Oktoberfest which was held on Saturday, October 1, 2022. The Oktoberfest raised funds for all three organizations. These funds help with providing scholarships and support to local community projects. POLICE: ECPD Alert Residents Of Recent Home Invasion

In a news release made available by the Ellwood City Police Department, police have apprehended three suspects in a recent home invasion and robbery. The report reads as follows: On October 14th at approximately 15:10 p.m., Ellwood City Police Department Officers were dispatched to an address in the 700 block of Line Avenue for reports of an armed robbery. Ellwood City Receives Nearly $6 Million in PENNVEST Funding

Three Lawrence County Men Among Seven Charged With Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

PITTSBURGH – Eliot Gentry, Daivahn Brown, Donald Jeter, William McCree, Teqwan Scott, Donald Snowden, and Kailin Stewart have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh for narcotics trafficking, United States Attorney Cindy K. Scholarships to be Awarded by Ellwood City Community Health Foundation

The Ellwood City Community Health Foundation (ECCHF) has been approved to offer scholarships to individuals who enroll in higher education to pursue a career in the medical field. The Foundation is offering four scholarships for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year. Two scholarships will be given for Financial Need and two for Scholastic Achievement. Each scholarship will be given for four years as along as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 2.0 at the end of each semester. Rose Rossi Celebrates 100th Birthday

Rose Y. Rossi of Newhaven Court, Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, celebrated her 100th birthday at Shakespeare’s Restaurant in Ellwood City, with 90 family members, relatives and friends from Texas, Florida, Ohio and PA. She lived in Ellwood City from the age of 6 until she was 99 years old. The former Rose Giacobbi was born October 3, 1922 in McComas, W.V., daughter of the late Alphonso and Chlorinda Marinucci Giacobbi.
