Butler County Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing Multiple Bricks of Fentanyl

PITTSBURGH, PA – A resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, has pled guilty on a charge of possessing 10 grams or more of a mixture containing fluorofentanyl and fentanyl, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced this week. Gerry Lee Kendall, age 41, pleaded guilty before Senior District Court Judge Arthur J. Schwab. Wolf Administration, Safety Partners Announce Results of Operation Safe Stop 2022

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) was joined today by the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Newbery Township Police, and West Shore School District transportation partners to reinforce the importance of school transportation safety and highlight the potential school transportation challenges posed by changing daylight conditions. Riverside School District To Host Veterans Day Assembly

On Wednesday, Riverside High School will host its annual Veterans Day Assembly. The assembly this year will honor the four Riverside young men who lost their lives in Vietnam. In the fall of 2019, a Riverside graduate visited Riverside High School, asking about our Riverside boys who lost their lives in Vietnam. He explained that he was participating in the Honor Flight program that provides transportation for Vietnam veterans to visit the memorial in Washington DC, and he wanted to be sure to know all their names. LHS Standout Softball Player, Aliya Garroway Commits to Saint Francis University

Lincoln High School Senior Aliya Garroway verbally committed to Saint Francis University of the NEC last Thursday. She will sign her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, November 9th at Lincoln High School. SFU, located in Loretto Pa, is coached by Jessica O’Donnell. The team has won 5 consecutive NEC titles and participated in the NCAA tournament over that same span. The University is a tremendous academic institution and is also one of the top 50 Division 1 softball programs in the country. Members of the Ellwood City Italian American Heritage Foundation met Thursday October 27th at Hunter Bros Coffee, at 229 Portersville Road. The meeting opened with “A Prayer in Time of Need.” World War II Veteran and hero Mr. Guy Prestia led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Treasurer Cherlyn Rangel reported on the current expenses and remaining balance. The Firefly Solar project is excited to announce its latest community grant recipients. Award winners are nonprofits and educational institutions dedicated to community building in Lawrence County. Lawrence County Man Pleads Guilty in Scheme to Distribute Cocaine from Mexico

PITTSBURGH – A Lawrence County resident pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and cocaine base, in form commonly known as crack cocaine, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced today. Quantel Searcy, age 49, formerly of New Castle, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty on Friday to one count before United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan. If this case would have proceeded to trial, the government would have proven that Searcy was part of a cocaine-distribution conspiracy focused on New Castle, Pennsylvania. Beaver, Butler County Projects Receive a Combined Total in Excess of $7.2 Million

HARRISBURG – Four Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants, with a combined total of $7.225 million, have been awarded to projects in Beaver and Butler counties, according to Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47) and state Rep. Rob Matzie (D-16). Brooks, Vogel Announce $3.5 Million Grant to Create Local Jobs at Steelite

LAWRENCE – Sens. Michele Brooks (R-50) and Elder Vogel (R-47) announced a $3.5 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant to facilitate the expansion of the Steelite International facility, which will contribute to the economic strengths of Neshannock Township, the City of New Castle and surrounding areas. The project entails the formation of a 55,000-square-foot, pre-engineered steel building in Neshannock Township.
