LHS Prom 2026 “Puttin’ on the Ritz for Prom ‘26”

On Friday, May 1st Ellwood City Lincoln High School will host its annual prom, themed “Puttin’ on the Ritz for Prom ‘26 ” at the New Englander Banquet Center – The Crane Room in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Prior to the evening celebration, students will participate in the traditional LHS Promenade at the Leslie Sabo Memorial Auditorium. During the promenade, members of the 2026 Prom King and Queen will be introduced, and with the King and Queen being crowned later in the evening. Ellwood City unleashed a 15-hit attack on the way to a 14-3 victory over Mohawk in a key AAA game at Mohawk on Monday. The win raised the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette #2-ranked Wolverines record to 8-1 in the Section One and 14-2 overall. Wayne Township 2026 Clean-Up Day Announced

Wayne Township residents are invited to participate in the annual clean-up day, which will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until Noon at the Wayne Township Municipal Building, located at 1418 Wampum Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117. This event is for Wayne Township residents only. Proof of residency is required. Mitchell Covert fired the lowest score for the Butler County Community College golf team for the seventh time in the past 20 matches as the Pioneers moved to 5-2 this spring with a split April 21 at the par-72 Lake Arthur Golf Club near Butler. Covert shot an 80 and finished as runner-up to medalist Luke Anderchak, Westmoreland County Community College, who had a 79. The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 met on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Nico Lucciano’s Restaurant. The members dined on manicotti and meatballs, chicken tenders and italian salad. The meeting centered on presenting donations for various community groups as their moto is Pro Bono Publico which means for the good of the public. Spring 2026 Update: Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project

The Beaver River Bridge project is currently in stage four of construction. The mainline Pennsylvania Turnpike lanes have been shifted south to allow for earthwork, grading and asphalt paving to realign the roadway with the new river crossing structures. All four piers and pier tables for the westbound Beaver River Bridge crossing have been completed. Fifteen-foot segmental concrete placements have been completed from westbound piers 1 and 4 headings. Form travelers have been moved to westbound piers 2 and 3 for segmental construction at those headings, which is in progress. Segmental construction at these headings will continue into fall 2026,…
