The Ellwood City United Fund is auctioning off a week trip to Disney World at Disney Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa from May 13th  through May 20th. Circle Of Friends Spring Basket Raffle Starts Today

It is that time of year to have those fantastic baskets for raffle! Join and support the Circle of Friends and their Spring Basket Raffle that starts today and runs through Friday. Franklin Township Annual Clean-Up Day Announced

The Franklin Township 2018 Clean-Up Day will be held from 8:00am to 2:00pm on May 5, 2018. Township residents may drop off their trash at the township’s municipal building. Passes are for township residents only and must be purchased in advance at $10.00 per pass. Two passes are allowed per household. Passes are good for one load. Passes go on sale April 3rd at the township municipal building, located at 475 Demott Lane. The building is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 3:30pm. Portersville Christian School Information Night/Open House

Portersville Christian School will hold an information Night/Open House on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 7:00 pm for families interested in enrolling students for the 2018-2019 school year. The school is accepting student applications and registrations prior to the release of next year’s tuition schedule at the end of March 2018. Local Author Plans Book Signing

Local author Nancy K. Wallace is celebrating the publication of her third and final book in the Wolves of Llisé trilogy with a book-signing event at the Ellwood City Library on Friday, March 23, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Mayor’s Advisory Committee Monthly Meeting Recap

On March 8, 2018 the Mayor’s Advisory Committee met in Council Chambers. The Mayor stressed the importance of being aware of your surroundings especially at night, to combat crime. Discussed was the possibility of hiring another Police Officer.  The Mayor advised that the Borough is employing many ways to attack crime, preventive measures.  Some of these preventive measures have led to many drug arrests, 422 since Court has taken office.  One of the new measures is “Perception is Everything” and commands immediate attention. Ellwood Historical Society Monthly Meeting Recap

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society monthly membership meeting was held last Monday, March 12, 2018. Guy Prestia, a World War II Veteran led the Pledge to the American flag. Those in attendance were reminded of the annual Robert and Janice Barensfeld Scholarships.  Two (2) $1500.00 scholarships will be awarded at the May meeting.  Graduating students from Lincoln High and Riverside High Schools are eligible.  Applications may be obtained from the Guidance Counselors of the schools.  The scholarships have been awarded through the Historical Society since the year 1999. Wampum’s Wine & Beer Festival Set For March 24

The Wampum Area Revitalization Committee will hold a Wine & Beer Festival from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on March 24th at the Wampum Gymnasium, located at 372 Main Street. Regional craft beer and wine makers will be present to offer tastings and products. Food and appetizers will be provided by the Lawrence County Career and Technology Center ( LCCTC) Restaurant Trade Program direct by Jennifer Price. Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 held their monthly meeting at Pizza Joe’s on Wednesday, February 14th. All in attendance participated in the Valentine lunch served by Purdue LaCava, Lois DiFrischia and Margaret Cancelli. President, Clemmy Sirimarco extended the welcome with Valentine greetings to all.
