Senators Urge Governor to Act to Eliminate Summer Gas Mandate

Town Hall Meeting to Discuss House Bill 2030

An informational “Save Our Town” meeting has been planned for Thursday May 3, beginning at 6:30pm at the Ellwood City Municipal Building Auditorium. A recent passage in Harrisburg of House Bill 2030 (HB 2030) specifically targeting Ellwood City Borough has raised serious concerns on the future of the town. Ellwood City for years has transferred money from the electric fund to balance the Borough’s general fund budget. Bernstine: Ellwood City Electric Legislation Clears Major Hurtle

HARRISBURG – Taking the first major step toward protecting local residents from skyrocketing electric bills, the state House of Representatives today approved legislation, authored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence), to bring additional oversight to the business and spending practices of Ellwood City Borough’s electric company. “Today’s vote was a big win for Ellwood City residents,” Bernstine said. “We are one step closer to stopping the egregious behaviors of Ellwood City electric through legislative oversight.” House Bill 2030 would require more uniform and reasonable rate structures to be adopted by the borough-run electric company. Rod & Gun Club Announces Final Turkey Shoot Winners

The Ellwood/Wampum Rod and Gun Club had it;’s final turkey shoot for the season on April 10. The winners were Kurtis Kelly, Jerry Sadler, Chuck Bingle, Frank Miller and Howard Watson. Howard Allison and Carmen Bucci were double winners. Chuck Bingle won the door prize. The winner of the spring season’s door prize was Taran Spielvogel. Perry Township Clean-Up Day Scheduled For May 12

The Perry Township Supervisors will hold their Annual Clean-Up Day on May 12, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00. There will be a $ 10.00 fee for each load brought for disposal. There will be two collection sites: the parking lots of the Perry Township Municipal Building and the Wurtemburg Perry Twp. Volunteer Fire Department.  Items not accepted:  tires, batteries, paint, oil products, and anything containing freon.
