Freshman Jordan Keller Qualifies, Earns Spot In WPIAL Golf Semifinals

Ellwood City Freshman Jordan Keller fired a round of 78 on Monday at Green Meadows Golf Course to qualify and advance to the WPIAL Class 2A Semifinals. Keller finished 5th overall in the Section V qualifier event, easily besting a target score of 86 to advance. Other Wolverine golfers posting scores from Monday include Colten Crizer (89), Mitch Covert (91), Carson Capello (97), Grady Smith (99), and Nathan Williams (100). SPORTS: Ellwood City Cross Country and Golf Teams Continue Winning Streaks

The Ellwood City Wolverines Co-Ed Cross Country Team and Co-Ed Golf teams each collected victories last week to continue their respective winning streaks. Golf has now won four straight matches after losing four of their previous five matches. The Wolverines last week defeated the Mohawk Warriors in by far the biggest upset on the year by Ellwood City with a score of 214-218. The victory came eight days after the Wolverines were victorious against the Union Scotties 221-232 to break the losing ways. Ellwood City Wolves Den Honors American Legion Post 157

The Ellwood City Wolves Den II met on Wednesday, September 14th and honored American Legion Post 157 with their Pro Bono Publico Award. American Legion Post 157 was instrumental in bringing the half size replica of the Vietnam War Memorial, “The Moving Wall”, back to Ellwood City on August 18 through August 21, 2022. The longest losing streak (27 games) in the WPIAL is officially over as the Wolverines cruised to their first victory in 4 years, defeating the Carlynton Cougars 46-6 on Friday night. The Cougars started the night off with electing to receive the ball after winning the coin toss, showing that they wanted to start on offense early. Wayne Township Clean-Up Day Announced

Wayne Township residents are invited to participate in the annual clean-up day that will take place on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. until Noon at the Wayne Township Municipal Building.
