Former Riverside golf standout and upcoming senior at Tiffin University, Justin Hand, was among three Dragon golfers to have earned GCAA All-America Scholar honors according to a press release from the university. Justin Hand, David Siegel, and Matt Flynn earned the distinction with their academic performance in 2022-23. A total of 214 golfers earned the distinction nationally from 80 schools. Riverside graduate Justin Hand tied the Tiffin University record with a 6-under par 66 at the Doc Spragg Invitational hosted by the University of Findlay in September. Hand led the Dragons to a 4th place finish at the invitational held on Tuesday, September 21st. The Dragons shot a invite-best 290 in round three, improving from 293 in round one and 291 in round two. Indianapolis won with 851, followed by Missouri-St. Louis with 868 and Findlay with 869. A special congratulations go out to Riverside student-athletes Skyler Fox and Justin Hand for both qualifying for the PIAA Western Regional golf finals. In a bid to become the first four-time WPIAL boys golf champion, Skyler Fox finished in second place on Thursday, after firing a round of 71, one off of the lead. Sewickley Academy senior J.F. Riverside’s Hand Finishes Strong In Opening Round at US Junior Amateur Championship

Riverside’s Justin Hand posted an opening-round 76 (+5) on Monday in the 72nd U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at historic Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. After struggling on the front nine of the round, including posting a triple-bogey, Hand settled down and fired a two-under 34 on the back-nine to level out to his first-round 76. The round sets him tied for 64th place out of 156 golfers. Riverside Graduate Takes Home 2nd In Golf Tournament

Justin Hand might’ve just celebrated graduating from Riverside High School, but he’s already back into the swing of things in tournament golf. Hand came in second place this past weekend at the WPGA Junior Championship. He finished with a total gross of 69, falling one short from the 1st place winner Rocco Salvitti of Canonsburgh. Riverside Boys Golf Team Advances To WPIAL Team Finals

The Riverside Boys Golf Team advanced to the 2019 WPIAL Class-AA Team Finals after posting a team score of 430 on Tuesday at Beaver Valley Golf Club. Skyler Fox fired a round of 72 (32-40) to lead the Panthers while fellow senior Justin Hand finished with a round of 75 for the Panthers. Ethan Ilarski (95), Logan Greer (88), and Liam Grinner (100) also contributed to the team’s total. It has been a special two days for the Riverside Golf team. First, on Tuesday both Justin Hand and Skyler Fox individually qualified for the WPIAL Individual Finals. And more recently, on Wednesday at the Midwestern Athletic Conference (MAC) boys golf championship, Fox took home the Championship after carding a 4-under round of 68 at the aptly named Fox Run Golf Course in Beaver Falls. Justin Hand, a soon-to-be-senior at Riverside High School, finished with a second-round 77 last Tuesday, missing the cut after his first two rounds (76+77=153) at the 2019 US Junior Amateur Championship.
