Valerie D. Moskal, 67

Mrs. Valerie D. Moskal, 67, of Mars, PA passed away on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at Highland Hills Post Acute Nursing Home in Pittsburgh.

Valerie was born on December 23rd, 1957 the daughter of the late Clyde and Marilyn (Derringer) Johnson Sr.. She earned her Diploma in Wildlife and Forestry Conservation from the North American Correspondence Schools, while doing her studies she volunteered at Moraine State Park with various projects. She also had worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. Valerie was an outdoors person who loved all animals, and enjoyed writing poems, crafts, and drawing.

She is survived by her son, Dustin Moskal and his girlfriend Jamey Scarborough of Ellwood City, granddaughters, Addison and Brooklyn Moskal, step-sister, Marnita Johnson and step-brother, Clyde (Misty) Johnson both of Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Debbie Johnson.

Following Valerie’s wishes there will not be a public service. The final arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..

    Dustin, I am so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. She’s the reason I am still a jeep enthusiast. Every time I was around her she was always laughing and it was contagious!
