Portersville Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Drug Charges

PITTSBURGH – A resident of Portersville, PA, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, and heroin, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced today. Raymond Chrzanowski, age 51, pleaded guilty to three counts before Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection Date Announced

Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection event that is scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2019. The collection takes place at Bradys Run Park Recycling Center in Brighton Township and is scheduled from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The fee is $3.00/gallon (a few exceptions) and is cash only. Bernstine Says $682,923 in State Grants Approved for Beaver, Lawrence Counties

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) announced today that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) awarded a total of $682,923 for regional development projects in Beaver and Lawrence counties. In Beaver County, Mycelia Development, LLC was awarded a $448,953 grant to construct a 16,670-square-foot cultural life and arts center within the downtown core of Beaver Falls. The three-story building will include a ceramic studio, handmade market, café, art gallery, community room, theatre, and event space and will achieve energy savings through the Green Globes Certification system under the Green Building Initiative (GBI). The Ellwood City United Fund campaign will start on October 1, 2019 and will continue until January 31, 2020. The campaign committee met this past Monday to review the agencies request for the coming year. The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County will be hosting a Terrarium Workshop. Participants will learn how to make a terrarium with step-by-step instructions from the Master Gardeners. Ellwood City Woman Sentenced to Prison for Probation Violation

PITTSBURGH – A resident of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to 10 months imprisonment followed by three years supervised release after the Court found that she violated her probation by committing perjury at a federal trial, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced today. Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on Kacie Zito, 33. According to information presented to the court, on June 12, 2019, at the trial of Taurean Potter, Ms. Zito committed perjury when she denied that Potter provided her cocaine that she later sold. Bernstine to Announce Legislation on Parole Process for Violent Offenders

ELLWOOD CITY – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) announced today that he will be introducing legislation which focuses on the parole process for violent offenders. This in the wake of the recent murder of a child in Lawrence County. A Fall Craft Show will be held at First United Methodist Church Ellwood City later this month. Wolverines Find Success In Running Game But Not Enough Against The Eagles

The official start to the 2019 WPIAL football season began last night as 118 teams were in action Friday. For the Wolverines, they were competing in their second game of the season against the Serra Catholic Eagles from McKeesport, PA. Both teams were looking to improve on their Week Zero results as Serra Catholic slipped by Yough 9-0 while the Wolverines were coming off of a 48-0 loss to Beaver Falls.
