Ellwood City Cocaine Dealer Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

PITTSBURGH – A resident of Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court to 15 years (180 months) in prison and six years of supervised release on his conviction of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and distribution of cocaine, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced today. Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on Taurean Potter, age 34, of Ellwood City Pennsylvania. Bernstine Invites Veterans in 10th District to Breakfast

HARRISBURG – To show appreciation to veterans in the 10th District for their service to the country, Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) is hosting a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, Nov. 1. The breakfast will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Koppel Fire Hall, 5525 Fifth Ave. in Koppel. Oktoberfest Volunteers – Going Above And Beyond

Ellwood City, PA. A check presentation dinner meeting was hosted by the Wolves Club on October 23 at Carusone’s Catering Hall in Ellwood City. Profits from the highly successful Oktoberfest event were distributed to the Lions Club, Rotary Club and the ALS Association of Western PA by chairman Denny Boariu. Ellwood City Area School District to Stage ‘Shrek the Musical’

The Ellwood City Area School District will proudly stage its annual musical next month. The school is presenting “Shrek The Musical” with a cast of over 75 high-school students and children bringing the fairy tale characters to life. Shrek the Musical is a Tony-award winning Broadway musical based on the Oscar-winning fairytale adventure of the same name. Senate Approves Bernstine Legislation to Repeal State’s Asset Tax Law

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine’s (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) legislation to repeal a provision in state law that could be used as a gateway to implement a state wealth tax on personal property passed the Senate unanimously today. When Ellwood City Manager Bob Villella was terminated in January 2018, the council began accepting applications for the position. Numerous applicants did not meet the advertised requirements, while others withdrew during the interview process. From the time of Villella’s dismissal until former borough manager Joe Cioffi came back on an interim basis in August 2018, council President Judith Dici performed the duties without pay.
