Calvin Presbyterian Church To Host GriefShare Program

Calvin Presbyterian Church will once again host a 13-week GriefShare program this winter each Sunday beginning February 14 and concluding May 23. The program will take place each Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 pm. The program will not meet on Easter (April 4) or Mother’s Day (May 9) and is sponsored by Calvin Presbyterian Church, with Ginny Brest as the facilitator. The first session is scheduled for Sunday, February 14 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The support group meets in the lower-level dining room of the church, observing CDC guidelines. BC3 Cancels Seasons Of 3 Indoor Intercollegiate Sports

(Butler, PA) The seasons of Butler County Community College’s three indoor intercollegiate athletic programs postponed last fall to this winter have been canceled with continued regard to COVID-19 and in observance of out-of-state travel orders announced by the state Department of Health on Nov. 17. The college announced Monday its cancellation of its men’s and women’s basketball seasons, and of its volleyball season for the 2020-2021 academic year. Inspections Continue To Close Restaurants For Not Following COVID-19 Guidelines

PA Department of Agriculture inspectors closed 33 restaurants statewide by order after confirming that each was open for dine-in service and refused to comply with the order while the inspector was present. On Tuesday, the Department of Agriculture released data related to COVID-19 restaurant enforcement actions from December 21 through December 27, 2020. The department’s Bureau of Food Safety performed 381 inspections, 54 of which were complaint-driven. Of those, 50 were COVID-19 specific complaints. The department received 42 food facility COVID-19 related complaints, and 20 of those COVID-19 related complaints were referred to local and county health jurisdictions. Of the…


Local Projects Receive State Grants Totaling $6 Million

Projects in the 47th Senatorial District were recently awarded state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants totaling $6 million according to Senator Elder Vogel. Stefanik Properties LLC, was awarded $2 million for the proposed development of the Stafanik Industrial Park on an 18-acre site in Center Township, Beaver County. NEW CASTLE – A $1 million grant from the state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will fund a state-of-the-art electrical apprenticeship training center for Lawrence County, state Rep. ‘Operation Naughty List’ Nets Drug/Weapon Seizure in Lawrence County

According to a social media post by the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office, ‘Operation Naughty List’ has netted a large drug/weapon seizure in Lawrence County.
