POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT: 
PSP New Castle is currently attempting to identify a white, non-Hispanic, heavy set, female, with dark hair. Her name is Wendy and she is an employee of Instacart. She is known to drive a black colored Nissan, Titan (truck). If anyone has any information on Wendy, please contact Trooper McBride at 724-598-2211. Wendy currently stands accused of stealing a wheel borrow from on Frew Mill Road in Slippery Rock Township on May 13th.

IDENTITY THEFT:
On June 19th, PSP New Castle spoke to a 50-year-old Wayne Township female who had their identity stolen. The actor(s) opened up an unemployment claim in her name out in the state of Kentucky. The resident along with the help of the Kentucky unemployment office were able to catch it and close the account before any money was paid out.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY:
On Sunday June 20th, a Reporting Officer was dispatched to 7-11 in regards of someone trying pass counterfeit money. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the assistant manager and another employee who both stated that the individual who was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and was standing on crutches, later identified as Anthony Agostinelli, 50, of Ellwood City, was in the store trying to pass off fake money. Agostinelli tried passing off one $100.00 bill to the store clerk before the officer’s arrival and had another (12) $1.00 bills and one $3.00 bill in his possession. Agostinelli stated that he didn’t know the money was fake. The officer took Agostinelli into custody and placed him under arrest for trying to pass counterfeit bills. Agostinelli then transported back to the station where he was charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking.

MULTIPLE VEHICLE ACCIDENTS:
New Castle State Police responded to a two vehicle car crash on June 19th in Shenango Township. Upon arriving at the scene, it was discovered that Unit 2, a 2011 Toyota, was going West on Rt. 422 and stopped at the red light for Rt. 388 when he was struck very hard from behind. Unit 1, a 2019 Buick, was also West bound on Rt. 422 and did not slow down for the stopped traffic at the light. The driver of the Buick has suspected minor injury and was wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Toyota has suspected serious injury and was transported to a nearby hospital, the driver was also wearing a seat belt.

New Castle State Police were dispatched to a two vehicle crash on June 19th in Scott Township. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Unit 1, a 2002 Volkswagen, had stopped at the T intersection with Grange Hall Road. The vehicle turned left onto Grange Hill Road and did not see Unit 2, a 2005 Ford. Neither driver was injured and both were wearing seat belts. The Volkswagen was towed by Castle Towing. The operator of the Volkswagen was cited for Obedience Of Traffic Control Device.

New Castle State Police responded to a two vehicle crash on June 19th in Mahoning Township. Unit 2, a 2019 Hino, was traveling West on State Route 422 when it was struck by Unit 1, a 2022 Freightliner, that was traveling North on State Route 551. The impact pushed the second vehicle onto the guardrail causing it to overturn and land on its right side. Operator 1 was wearing his seat belt and is reported to have minor injuries. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 were reported to not be wearing seat belts and Passenger one was reported to have minor injuries. Operator 1 and Passenger 1 were both transported to St.Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio by Noga Ambulance Service.

RESISTING ARREST, PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 
On June 16th, Trooper McBride was on patrol duty when he and other Troopers were dispatched to a disturbance in Slippery Rock Township. Upon arriving to the scene, McBride spoke with the complainant and she said that her sister, Margret Black, 51, of New Castle, was threatening her and had her fists up in her face like she was going to punch her. The complainant said that this is an ongoing issue and that she is scared that Black would assault her because she is getting more violent towards her. The complainant also advised that Black was intoxicated. McBride made his way over to the neighbors house where the other Troopers were speaking to Black in the driveway. Black was yelling and using profanity and was clearly intoxicated and stated she was drinking beer. It was made aware that there was active PFA out of Colorado against Black that had been filed by the complainant. Trooper Ungerman and Santarelli told Black to put her hands behind her back for violating the PFA. Black pulled away and used profanity towards the Troopers. Both Troopers had to forcefully put her arms behind her back to get her hands cuffed. Black is charged with resisting arrest, public drunkenness, and disorderly conduct.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF UNDER $1,000: 
On June 23rd, New Castle PSP responded to a business alarm at Ferrante Upholstering in Lawrence County. Upon arrival, it was discovered that one of the outside panes of glass upon the west face of the business was shattered by reasons unknown causing approximately $300.00 worth of damage.
