Application Deadline Nears For Record 155 BC3 Scholarships

Six scholarships administered by the Butler County Community College Education Foundation will debut in the 2023-2024 academic year and increase to 155 the record number of named financial awards available to BC3 students, a college administrator said. Students registered in fall 2023 credit programs can apply for a scholarship until July 1, said Bobbi Jo Cornetti, development coordinator of the foundation that distributed 148 named financial awards and a record $292,123 to BC3 students in the 2022-2023 academic year. Ellwood City Wolves Club Awards $18,035 in Scholarships This Year To Local Students

On Wednesday, May 31st, the Ellwood City Wolves Den II hosted a dinner to honor the recipients of the Wolves Club Scholarships for 2023. Ten Wolves Club Scholarships, with a value of $18,035, were awarded this year including three new ones. Wolves Club president, Mike DeOtto commented, “Higher education puts students on the path to many different careers. Two Local Students Receive Scholarships At Municipal Woman’s Club May Banquet

Two local students received scholarships as part of the Municipal Woman’s Club banquet that took place May 22nd at Joey’s Event Room on Lawrence Avenue Gianna Fotia, of Lincoln High School, and Abigail Hughes, of Riverside Beaver County, were the recipients of the scholarships. Fotia was accompanied by her parents, Joe and Lisa Fotia, and was presented the scholarship by Cheryl Valvano. Tenaris Launches Longstanding Merit Awards In Beaver County

Tenaris has launched its Merit Awards, the company’s longest running education-based program, in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, awarding a total of $25,000 in scholarships. ELLWOOD today announced the recipients of the group’s 2023 Industrial Maintenance Scholarship awards. Three graduating seniors were each awarded $10,000 scholarships as part of the program. The Industrial Maintenance Scholarship program is a unique opportunity available to high school seniors and/or those who have successfully completed the GED test who plan to attend an accredited trade school, college or university following graduation. Three local students were awarded scholarships at the Ellwood City Historical Society on Monday. Sam Kline and Hayden Slade were each recipients of the $1,500.00 Robert & Janice Barensfeld Scholarships and Gabrielle Davis was the recipient of the $10,000.00 Marlene Painter Scholarship. Grady Smith Earns The MVS Elks Scholarship

Grady Smith has been named a National Elks Scholar and a recipient of their Most Valuable Student Scholarship. The Elks National Foundation scholarship program recognizes students in several categories including community service, honors and awards, extracurricular involvement, employment and academics. Grady was selected from over 20,000 applicants nationwide as one of the top 2% students in the country to become a lifelong Elks Scholar. Hayden Slade Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Hayden Slade, a senior at Lincoln High School, has been named a National Merit Finalist in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. Over 1.5 million students entered the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors. Erin Lechner Receives First ECCHF Scholarship

Erin Jenna Lechner is the recipient of the first scholarship given by Ellwood City Community Health Foundation. Erin is a graduate of Lincoln High School in 2018, Grove City College in 2022, and is now enrolled in Chatham University’s Physician Assistant Studies.
