Two Local Students Receive Scholarships At Municipal Woman’s Club May Banquet

Two local students received scholarships as part of the Municipal Woman’s Club banquet that took place May 22nd at Joey’s Event Room on Lawrence Avenue

Gianna Fotia, of Lincoln High School, and Abigail Hughes, of Riverside Beaver County, were the recipients of the scholarships.

Fotia was accompanied by her parents, Joe and Lisa Fotia, and was presented the scholarship by Cheryl Valvano. Hughes was accompanied by her parents, Adam and Toni Hughes, and was presented her scholarship by Nancy Walton.

Additionally, the Municipal Woman’s Club Woman of the Year award was presented to Nancy Fenton. Barb Beachem led the installation of new officers and Joanna Lowrie led the presentation of new members.

New members included Betsy Courty, Shelby Hall, and Stephonia Richardson.

This is the final meeting of the Municipal Woman’s Club until September.

The club meets once a month on the last Monday of the month. The public is welcome to come as a guest and to consider joining. New members are always welcome.

2023-24 Officers are Kathleen Frickanish, President; Cheryl Valvano, 1st Vice President/Civic; Susan Gilchrist, 2nd Vice President/Program; Phyliss Conway & Loretta Silvesti, 3rd Vice President/Social; Sandy Blank, Secretary; Shirly Coccia, Treasurer; Nancy Fenton & Nancy Walton, Ways & Means; Geri Manz, Membership; Donna Kish, Publicity; and Barb Beachem, Parliamentarian.
