The Ellwood Area Education Association recently awarded two scholarships to Lincoln High School seniors Emma Wise and Kyla Servick The scholarships are to be used toward their post-secondary expenses. Emma is the daughter of Gina and Ray Wise and will be attending Penn State University, University Park. Kyla is the daughter of Jolene Krupa and Sam Servick and will be attending Westminster College. Presenting the scholarships to the young ladies is Mrs. Heather Brest, a math teacher at Lincoln and the chair of the EAEA Scholarship Committee.

A reminder to Lincoln High School and Riverside High School seniors: The annual Ellwood City Area Historical Society Scholarship submission is quickly approaching. The deadline is Thursday April 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award two $1500.00 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors. Graduating seniors from Lincoln High School and Riverside High School who have been accepted to attend a college, Trade School or Performing Arts are eligible. Ellwood Group Announces Five $10,000 Scholarships To Be Awarded to Graduating Seniors

Ellwood Group, Inc. has recently announced a unique scholarship opportunity available to high school seniors and/or those who have successfully completed the GED test who plan to attend an accredited trade school following graduation. The ELLWOOD Industrial Maintenance Scholarship is being made available to those 2022 graduates who are considering pursuing a certificate or degree in Mechatronics, or an equivalent industrial maintenance program. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society convened for their regular monthly membership meeting Monday February 14th. Present Everett Bleakney welcomed the 30 present and Guy Prestia, a World War II veteran led with the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag. The meeting commenced with Charles Brown presenting the financial report. Robert Morabito, chairman of the Programs and Publicity reported on the future guest speakers. Mason Lechner and Rayden “R.J.” Wilson are the first recipients of a scholarship established this year by the Lincoln High School Class of 1957. Each was awarded $1,000 to help them continue their education in a two-year program. Mason is now taking classes at New Castle School of Trades where he plans to earn a degree in electrical technologies. R.J, is going to Butler County Community College for a degree in exercise science and plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy. McCommons Wins LHS Class of ’57 Scholarship Competition

Molly McCommons was the top winner in the Lincoln High School Class of 1957 scholarship competition. She won the $5.000 scholarship and the $500 award for writing the best essay. Molly, daughter of Kathy McCommons of Wood St., will continue her education at Grove City College where she will “follow my passion for history and political science” in preparation for law school. Emily Borroni, a senior at Lincoln High School was awarded the Holy Redeemer Social Club Scholarship on May 24th at the organization’s monthly meeting. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society awarded its Annual Robert and Janice Barensfeld Scholarship Awards to Emily Ann Borroni and Hayden Christopher Panek at a meeting Wednesday May 5th.
