ELLWOOD today announced the recipients of the group’s 2023 Industrial Maintenance Scholarship awards. Three graduating seniors were each awarded $10,000 scholarships as part of the program. The Industrial Maintenance Scholarship program is a unique opportunity available to high school seniors and/or those who have successfully completed the GED test who plan to attend an accredited trade school, college or university following graduation. The scholarships are made available each year to graduates who are considering pursuing a certificate or degree in Mechatronics, or an equivalent industrial maintenance program. Three local students were awarded scholarships at the Ellwood City Historical Society on Monday. Sam Kline and Hayden Slade were each recipients of the $1,500.00 Robert & Janice Barensfeld Scholarships and Gabrielle Davis was the recipient of the $10,000.00 Marlene Painter Scholarship.  Davis and Slade are graduating seniors at Lincoln High School and Kline is a graduating senior at Riverside School District. Grady Smith Earns The MVS Elks Scholarship

Grady Smith has been named a National Elks Scholar and a recipient of their Most Valuable Student Scholarship. The Elks National Foundation scholarship program recognizes students in several categories including community service, honors and awards, extracurricular involvement, employment and academics. Grady was selected from over 20,000 applicants nationwide as one of the top 2% students in the country to become a lifelong Elks Scholar. Hayden Slade, a senior at Lincoln High School, has been named a National Merit Finalist in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. Over 1.5 million students entered the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors. Erin Lechner Receives First ECCHF Scholarship

Erin Jenna Lechner is the recipient of the first scholarship given by Ellwood City Community Health Foundation. Erin is a graduate of Lincoln High School in 2018, Grove City College in 2022, and is now enrolled in Chatham University’s Physician Assistant Studies. Riverside Panther standout student-athlete Samantha Rosenberger has officially signed her letter of intent to play Division II softball with Barry University, in Miami, Florida.
