ELLWOOD Announces 2023 Industrial Maintenance Scholarship Winners

ELLWOOD today announced the recipients of the group’s 2023 Industrial Maintenance Scholarship awards. Three graduating seniors were each awarded $10,000 scholarships as part of the program. The Industrial Maintenance Scholarship program is a unique opportunity available to high school seniors and/or those who have successfully completed the GED test who plan to attend an accredited trade school, college or university following graduation. The scholarships are made available each year to graduates who are considering pursuing a certificate or degree in Mechatronics, or an equivalent industrial maintenance program. Ellwood City Historical Society Announces 2023 Scholarship Winners

Three local students were awarded scholarships at the Ellwood City Historical Society on Monday. Sam Kline and Hayden Slade were each recipients of the $1,500.00 Robert & Janice Barensfeld Scholarships and Gabrielle Davis was the recipient of the $10,000.00 Marlene Painter Scholarship.  Davis and Slade are graduating seniors at Lincoln High School and Kline is a graduating senior at Riverside School District. The monthly meeting of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society was called to order by Bob Morabito, President, reminding those present of the mission of the Society. Grady Smith Earns The MVS Elks Scholarship

Grady Smith has been named a National Elks Scholar and a recipient of their Most Valuable Student Scholarship. The Elks National Foundation scholarship program recognizes students in several categories including community service, honors and awards, extracurricular involvement, employment and academics. Grady was selected from over 20,000 applicants nationwide as one of the top 2% students in the country to become a lifelong Elks Scholar. He received a $4,000 scholarship from the Elks National Foundation, Inc. to apply towards furthering his education. Hayden Slade Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Hayden Slade, a senior at Lincoln High School, has been named a National Merit Finalist in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. Over 1.5 million students entered the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors. This year’s nationwide pool of 15,000 Finalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Finalists must also have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT or ACT scores that…

ATTENTION 2023 GRADUATING SENIORS — the annual Ellwood City Area Historical Society Scholarship submission deadline is quickly approaching! The deadline is Friday, March 31, 2023 before 1:00 p.m. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award two $1,500.00 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors. 2023 Graduating seniors who live in the Ellwood City School District or the Riverside High School School District who have been accepted to attend a College, Trade School, or Performing Arts School are eligible to apply. Erin Lechner Receives First ECCHF Scholarship

Erin Jenna Lechner is the recipient of the first scholarship given by Ellwood City Community Health Foundation. Erin is a graduate of Lincoln High School in 2018, Grove City College in 2022, and is now enrolled in Chatham University’s Physician Assistant Studies. Erin plans to work in the Beaver/Lawrence/Butler County area after she is a certified Physician Assistant. Rosenberger Signs With Barry University

Riverside Panther standout student-athlete Samantha Rosenberger has officially signed her letter of intent to play Division II softball with Barry University, in Miami, Florida. Rosenberger has received a full academic and athletic scholarship and is pictured signing her paperwork last Friday, November 18th at Riverside High School Rosenberger is a 1B/LHP senior captain for the Lady Panthers Varsity Softball team. Municipal Woman’s Club Presents Scholarships and 2022 Woman of The Year Award

The Municipal Woman’s Club of Ellwood City held their annual May banquet at the Calvin Church on May 23, 2022 at 6 pm.
