Portersville Man Charged with DUI After Hitting School Bus

According to the criminal complaint, on August 4 a Pennsylvania State Trooper was dispatched to a two vehicle crash on State Route 488. Upon arrival it was determined Jason Scott Sunday, 41, of Portersville had crossed into oncoming traffic striking a school bus. The officer detected an alcoholic odor emitting from his persons, to which Sunday denied but admitted to being on Suboxone at the time of the crash. Frank Joseph Stone, 30, of Slippery Rock is facing charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while operating privilege is suspended. According to the criminal complaint, on June 30, the Ellwood City Police Department was called for an erratic driver coming into Ellwood City through a construction zone. Updated at 2:10p.m. 7/19 Erik Sobel is facing charges of disorderly conduct and reckless driving after an incident that occurred on the evening of July 12. The victim advised that her fiancee, whom she lives with, Raemond Albert Wright, 34, of Ellwood City, had assaulted her during a verbal argument. The Ellwood City Police Department warns of criminal mischief complaints they have been receiving lately. Over a half dozen residents on Park Avenue have reported damage to their cars during the night of 6/6 into the early morning hours of 6/7. POLICE: Two Businesses – Nearly 30 Propane Tanks Stolen

According to the police reports, two businesses have had several propane tanks stolen over several recent nights. Between the nights of May 6, 9, and 16, Industrial Equipment Fabrications had 5 total tanks stolen. Each tank full and weighing 33lbs. Total approximate loss of $1,150.00. Adams Manufacturing reported an overnight burglary the night of the 12, with 23 propane tanks stolen for a total approximate loss of $3,450.00. Video surveillance is being reviewed with further investigation.
