The Borough of Ellwood City and the Mayor’s Office has announced the 1st presentation of the “2019 Beautification Winner” Mayor Anthony J. Court awarded the beautification award to Mike and Shanna Meyer of Center Avenue, Ellwood City. The Meyer’s have done an amazing job making their property come to life and making Ellwood City proud. Ellwood City Mayor Named Vice President Of Statewide Association

Ellwood City’s mayor Anthony Court was recently named Vice President of the Association of Mayors of the Boroughs of Pennsylvania (AMBP). Court, 61, who has served as mayor for 13 years said he is proud to have been chosen for the role. He was raised in Ellwood City with his three sisters Luisa, Angela, and Margherita. Ellwood City Residents Turn Properties Into Beautiful Landscapes

Mayor Court has announced that once again Ellwood City residents will turn their properties into beautiful landscapes, bring the neighborhoods back to life for everyone to enjoy. This will be the 8th year that Mayor Court will present “Beautification Awards” and restaurant certificates to six (6) area residents who are nominated for taking pride in their properties throughout Ellwood City. Residents are encouraged to participate, by both beautifying your properties or by nominating someone you feel does a great job in making their property stand out in the neighborhood. Girl Scout Troop 28845 Recognized With Community Badges

Mayor’s Advisory Committee Monthly Meeting Recap

On March 8, 2018 the Mayor’s Advisory Committee met in Council Chambers. The Mayor stressed the importance of being aware of your surroundings especially at night, to combat crime. Discussed was the possibility of hiring another Police Officer.  The Mayor advised that the Borough is employing many ways to attack crime, preventive measures.  Some of these preventive measures have led to many drug arrests, 422 since Court has taken office.  One of the new measures is “Perception is Everything” and commands immediate attention. At the Borough Council meeting on Monday, members of council along with Mayor Court presented a “Commendation” to a local Eagle Scout. Christopher Brandt achieved his Eagle Scout Award – Troop 806. “Amazing accomplishment and dedication for a terrific guy. Mayor’s Advisory Meeting Recap

On Thursday, October 26, 2017 Mayor Court held his monthly Mayor’s Advisory meeting. Discussion of many topics including the upcoming Drug Take-Back program that would be held by the Police Department and the Halloween Parade that will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Other topics discussed were the street improvement in and throughout Ellwood City are nearly complete. These improvements are considered to be a “Temporary Inconvenience” with permanent improvements to our city.  The Mayor thanks everyone for their patience during this process. Mayor Court enjoyed an evening handing out candy to Ellwood City children who participated in the annual Halloween Night tradition.  Many children were out, regardless of the cold, to show off their great costumes and be treated with candy from residents all over town.
