Ellwood City 15u Softball Team Brings Home 2018 Lawrence County Championship

The team traveled to historic Dean Park in New Castle on Thursday evening to capture the championship hardware.  They started fast as they plated the first 10 runs of the game in the opening 3 innings to cruise home with an 11-5 victory over the Union Scotties. Master Gardeners Host 3nd Annual Garden Tour

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County are hosting their Third Annual Garden Tour on Sunday, July 22rd from Noon to 5:00 p.m. The tour highlights four area gardens, which can be toured at your own pace. Master Gardeners will be available at each location to answer questions. The tour will consist of four gardens within Lawrence County. Wampum Trail Town Festival

The Wampum Trail Town Festival will be held rain or shine from 11:00 am  to 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 23, at the Wampum Train Station, 303 Main Street, Wampum, PA 16157.  Vendors will be able to begin setting up at 9:30 am and are expected to remain set up until 3:00 pm. Previous Council President Appointed Chairman on Housing Authority Committee

Previous Council President, Connie MacDonald, was appointed yesterday to an open seat on the Lawrence County Housing Authority committee – filling the unexpired term of authority chairman William Betz, who has moved out of the county. MacDonald, who lost Ellwood City Council reelection in 2017 – ending his Council term officially in December, joins four other members, Rev. David Young, Debby Hennon, Lee Ann Fulena and Holly Girdwood, and will now represent Ellwood City Borough on the housing committee.
