Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County Host Master Gardener Basic Training Class

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County will be hosting a Basic Training Class beginning Fall 2018. There will be Open House Informational Meetings to discuss that Training Class along with addressing any questions candidates may have. The first informational meeting will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the Lawrence County Courthouse on the 2nd Floor (Old Library) located at 430 Court St New Castle, Pa 16101. The second informational meeting will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm located at the New Castle Public Library 207 E North St New Castle, Pa 16101.

The Basic Training class will include the following topics: botany, plant propagation, soil health and fertilizer management, composting, controlling pests safely, entomology, plant diseases, indoor plants, vegetables, lawn care, pruning, woody ornamentals, herbaceous plants, native plants, weeds and invasives.
