Master Gardeners Host 3nd Annual Garden Tour

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County are hosting their Third Annual Garden Tour on Sunday, July 22rd from Noon to 5:00 p.m. The tour highlights four area gardens, which can be toured at your own pace. Master Gardeners will be available at each location to answer questions.

The tour will consist of four gardens within Lawrence County. The Altman Garden is located in New Wilmington includes 3 acres of hostas, daylilies, lilium, and daffodils. Pam Docherty’s gardens will be also on the tour located in New Castle. Pam has 2 gardens that consist of perennials and adding annuals for more color, along with a beautiful Memory Garden with shade and sun loving plants. Finally yet importantly, Frank DiLeo garden displays his passion for gardening, with his large vegetable garden, fruit trees, and a small bonsai tree collection. Frank’s garden is located in Mt. Jackson. Each garden will provide an opportunity to view different styles of gardens, a chance to talk to the creators of these gardens and get their input on their gardening experiences, and talk to Penn State Master Gardeners from Lawrence County.

Cost for the tour is $10.00. Registration is encouraged. You can register online or by calling toll free 1-877-345-0691. Walk- ins are welcome the day of the tour, however, registration will be available at Garden #1 (The Altman Garden at 300 N Market St New Wilmington, Pa 16142).
