Pudue LaCava hosted the Lincoln Class of 1954 “Nite at the Movies” committee meeting at her Mt. Vernon Drive home on Wednesday April 19. The session began with a luncheon provided by the committee, featuring pizza by “Pinky” Maielli and dessert by Ilene Gardner and served by LaCava and Gardner. Co-Chairman, James Gillespie conducted the business session that followed. Clemmy Sirimarco presented the financial reports. Gillespie reported on the fund raising and distributed the April tickets. Former Treasurer Prohibited from Attending Ellwood City Arts and Crafts Festival

Suzanne Darlen Bleakney, 50, of Ellwood City, the previous Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food, and Entertainment Festival treasurer accused of theft, has now pleaded guilty Friday to one count of theft. Bleakney was facing charges of theft by unlawful taking and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received after supposedly stealing upwards of $1650.00 from the festival bank account during her time working as the treasurer. House Passes Bernstine Bill to Hold Lottery Winners Accountable for Debts

HARRISBURG – Common-sense, bipartisan legislation to intercept lottery winnings by individuals who are delinquent on state taxes or behind on child support payments has passed unanimously in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, announced bill sponsor, Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence).  House Bill 674 requires the Department of Revenue (DOR) to determine whether taxpayers who win a single prize of more than $2,500 from the Pennsylvania Lottery have any unpaid state taxes.
