It was a great honor for Mayor Court to swear in the second part time Ellwood City Patrolman, Gary Greene, Jr. On Monday, April 3, 2017, Patrolman Greene began his first day as an Ellwood City Police Officer. Mayor Court and the ECPD wish him great success going forward in his new career.  


Rotary Club of Ellwood City Awarded $1000 District Simplified Grant

The Rotary Club of Ellwood City received a grant to support the reading clubs at the Ellwood City Area Public Library. The Rotary District Simplified Grant is a matching funds grant that is designed to help local Rotary Clubs use a portion of their foundation contributions. Ellwood City Rotary has been awarded grants for area projects as well as international projects. Ellwood Area Egg hunt Committee will be holding their 22nd community Easter Egg hunt this coming Saturday April 8th.Rain or shine.In Ewing Park for children ages 9 & under starting at 11:00 a.m. The 4 and under hunts will start at 11 and run through the days events. Ellwood City Wolverines Drops Game to Blackhawk After Late Score

Ellwood City Wolverines stayed in it until the end, but Blackhawk pulled away late in a 12-1 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at one with Blackhawk batting in the bottom of the fourth when Anthony Sebastian homered off of Tyler Good, driving in three runs. New Ice Cream Shop Teams Up with Windy Ridge Dairy

Two local residents, Scott and Caroline Golmic, have a vision for the old Blocher Jewelers building, located at 507 Lawrence Ave – to turn it into an ice cream parlor. Scott stated that after a long period of decision making, it was decided upon that an ice cream shop would be something that would not only benefit the local Ellwood community, but “bringing ice-cream back to Lawrence Avenue” is a dream the duo would like to pursue; and thus the idea for Sweet Caroline’s was born. Inside the Making of Bigfoot the Movie with Creator Jared Show

When Jared Show traveled to Ellwood City to film Bigfoot the Movie, he had no idea that his hometown would be so accommodating. “I was amazed at how supportive and helpful everyone was,” Show said. Show grew up in the Ellwood City Area and attended Riverside School District. His grandfather used to tell Bigfoot stories.
