Officer Robert Bird received a commendation from Mayor Anthony J. Court for his heroic acts that saved a man’s life. Officer Bird was dispatched to a vehicle that crashed into a residence on Orchard Avenue in Ellwood City last week. Upon arrival he encountered a truck that caught fire. The driver of which was trapped inside suffering from a medical emergency. This week Mayor Anthony J. Court presented commendations to a group of individuals who played a part in getting the pickleball park in Ewing Park. Council members George Celli, Michelle Lamenza, and Jim Barry, along with Borough Manager Kevin Swogger, John Dibuono, and Kitchen Cabinet members Earla Marshall, Barb Bohizic, and Brian Franksain were on hand for the commendations presented by Mayor Court. A commendation was presented to Roberta Page by Mayor Anthony J. Court and Council President George J. Celli at a recent council meeting. Local Athlete Given Commendation

Ellwood City native and graduate Nicholas “Nick” Ioanilli is in the midst of his senior year at Colgate and has been stirring up the football world since his freshman year. Ioanilli was a three-year letterman and senior captain of the Wolverines Football team during his time here in Ellwood. With those efforts he went ahead was awarded as the Colgate Gordon Watson Scout Team Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. Mayor Court Presents Commendation to Celli

Mayor Anthony Court was honored to present a Commendation to councilman George Celli this week. Celli has served as president of the National Wolves Club from 2016 – 2019. During his tenure, the Wolves Clubs were responsible for $750,000 dollars in scholarships to local worthy students. “As a community, we are proud of his accomplishments!” said Court in a statement.
