(Butler, PA) Butler County Community College will offer more than 180 courses this summer to BC3 and guest students in face-to-face classes available at BC3 locations in Armstrong, Butler, Jefferson, Lawrence and Mercer counties, or in online or hybrid formats. Christopher B. Yahn, 67, of Northview Estates in Elwood City, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, in Allegheny General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Ellwood City on August 15, 1953, to the late Franklin and Cleo Caldwell Yahn. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1971 and Westminster College in 1975. He also studied at Penn State, Beaver Campus, Community College of Beaver County, and Slipper Rock University. BC3’s 23-year-old College Within the HS Program Tops 500 Students For First Time

(Butler, PA) Butler County Community College’s College Within the High School program, which enables sophomores through seniors the opportunity to earn transferrable college credits, has exceeded 500 students in a semester for the first time, including two featured Lincoln High School students. In the fall 2020 semester, 507 students in Butler, Clarion, Clearfield, Jefferson, Lawrence and Mercer counties are taking at least one BC3 course in subjects ranging from anatomy and physiology to western civilization I. Mr. Christopher George Linville, 47, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020. He was born on February 7, 1972 in Ellwood City, PA to “G” Bradley Linville and Carol (Herko) Mangino. Christopher proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy as a HM3 “Corpsman”. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Christopher worked as an EDT at UPMC Passavant Hospital ER, where he would later work as an EMT for the Cranberry Ambulance Corporation. POLICE REPORTS: Several Traffic Stops Lead To Various Violations; Reckless Driving; Assault

According to a criminal complaint, on September 16 at approximately 9:00 am, in a routine patrol, Ellwood City policeman observed old Jason Santellan, 40, of Ellwood City, walking east on Crescent Avenue near Cherry Way. After confirming an active bench warrant for Mr. Santellan, police made contact with Santellan. Police asked Santellan if he had anything on him at which time Santellan provided police with a black box that he stated contained a ‘dab.’ Police took Santellan into custody on the warrant.
