Christopher “Chris” Sean Thomas, 45, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 in Bridgewater, Virginia. Born in New Castle on March 4, 1977, Chris was the son of Fridolin and Marilyn Lepsik Thomas, of New Wilmington. He was a 1995 graduate of New Wilmington High School and a United States Air Force Veteran, where he was an Aerospace Ground Equipment Journeyman. Most recently, Chris was a maintenance supervisor for Perdue in Bridgewater, Virginia. Wolf Administration, Safety Partners Announce Results of Operation Safe Stop 2022

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) was joined today by the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Newbery Township Police, and West Shore School District transportation partners to reinforce the importance of school transportation safety and highlight the potential school transportation challenges posed by changing daylight conditions. The results of Operation Safe Stop, an annual school bus enforcement and education initiative that was held on October 19 this year, were also announced. Christopher James Caputo, 48

Christopher James Caputo, 48, of North Sewickley Township died on Friday, October 28, 2022 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. Caputo was born on August 22, 1974 in Cortland, NY to Mary Anne Corrigan Caputo of North Sewickley Township and the late William S. Caputo.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1992 and enlisted in the US Army.  He later studied computer repair at DCI Institute.  For several years he was a commercial truck driver.  He was a member of the former St. Agatha Church. Lincoln High School Top Nine And Graduating Class of 2022

The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2022 will receive their diplomas Thursday June 2nd, during a ceremony scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Sgt. Leslie H. Sabo Jr. Memorial Auditorium. Lincoln High School is graduating 102 students with nine students receiving high honors. Students will follow 2021-22 classes for the last time on Wednesday and underclassmen will receive their 2022-23 schedule during first period. Wolverines Earn Top Seed, Playoff Tickets Now On Sale

The “Path To The Pete” starts Monday for the Ellwood City boys basketball team as the WPIAL Class-3A Playoffs are set to begin. The Wolverines earned a #1 seed after its 20-2 regular season. The team went undefeated in section play. Very Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Polanichka reposed in The Lord on Monday morning, December 20, 2021 at the age of 85. Born July 17,1936 in Scranton, PA to the late Nicholas and Susan (Chuvan) Polanichka.Proto. Michael entered the Diocesan Seminary of Christ the Savior in Johnstown, PA in September 1956 and graduated in June 1960. On June 11, 1960 he married the former Eleanor Jean Hazuda in Nesquehoning, PA and they just celebrated their 61st Wedding anniversary in June 2021.
