Lincoln High School Top Nine And Graduating Class of 2022

The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2022 will receive their diplomas Thursday June 2nd, during a ceremony scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Sgt. Leslie H. Sabo Jr. Memorial Auditorium.

Lincoln High School is graduating 102 students with nine students receiving high honors.

Students will follow 2021-22 classes for the last time on Wednesday and underclassmen will receive their 2022-23 schedule during first period. Students will follow their 2022-23 schedule on June 2 which is an 11:15 dismissal and officially last day for students!

Brianna Leigh Francis, daughter of Brittany Francis. Brianna plans to becoming an Actuary and will attend Robert Morris University. She participated in Spanish Club (President), National Honors Society (President), Club Hope (Officer), Art Club, History Club, The Carpenters Project, Ellwood City Culture Club, Save Club, LEO Club (President), Peer Leadership, and Lil Angels Softball. Her achievements include Class Officers (President), Graduating with High Honors, Leadership Award x4, Salutatorian of the class of 2022, Elek Brown Memorial Grant, Club Hope Scholarship, Lion’s Club Student of the Month Scholarship, and Women’s Leadership and Membership.

Asiah Rose Merten, daughter of Chad and Lura Barnhart. Asiah plans to become a registered nurse after getting a four year degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Asiah also will look to attend a two year program to become a nurse practitioner. She was varsity cheerleader for four years, but has cheered since 1st grade. She also volunteered as a kindergarten-6th grade cheer coach since 8th grade. Her achievements include National Honors Society for 2 years, Ann M. and Nicholas N. Nixon Award for Registered Nursing, Howell & Lois Williams Biology Scholarship, The Rajasenan Family Medical and Science Scholarship.

Nicholas Tyler Riley, son of Jessica Main. Nicholas plans to become a Mechanical Enginner and attend Slippery Rock University. His achievements include High Honor, Anne M.and Nicholas N. Nixon Mechanical Engineering Award, Howell and Lois Williams English Scholarship.

Kyla Josephine Servick, daughter of Jolene Krupa and Sam Servick. Kyla plans to enter a Pre-Physician Assistant Program and will attend Westminster College. She participated in Varsity Girls Basketball (Captain), Varsity Girls Softball (Co-Captain), Senior High Student Council (President), and Caring Team. Her achievements include Tri-County Principals/Athletic Directors Scholarship,
EAEA Scholarship, Lions Club Student of the Month, and 2022 Homecoming Queen.

Alyssa Rose Simpson, daughter of Crystal and Kevin Simpson. Alyssa plans to be a pediatric surgeon and will be be attending The Ohio State University for Chemistry. She participated with the Caring team president, drama club vice president, French Club, Spanish club, history club, girl scouts, NHS, and community garden. Her achievements include Girl Scout Gold Award, Beaver County Mock Trial 2022 Scholarship, Lions Club Student of the Month Scholarship, Howell and Lois Williams Biology Scholarship, the Rajasenan Family Medical and Science Scholarship, and Perfect Attendance 2021-22.

Anthony Michael Spadafore, son of Tania and Eugene Spadafore. Anthony plans to enter the electrical engineering career field and will attend the University of Pittsburgh. He participated in Cross Country, Basketball, Track & Field, Art Club, and French Club. His achievements include High Honor Roll, National Honors Society, Peer Leadership, The Lions Club Student of the Month Scholarship,
Outstanding Senior French, Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies Award, The Dennis M. Norman Memorial Scholarship, Howell & Lois Williams English and Biology Scholarship, 2021 Lawrence County Student Show Merit Award (Hoyt Art Musuem), and American Legion Veterans Day Essay Winner.

Mark Allen VanHorn, son of Randy VanHorn and Renee Pitrelli. Mark will enter the electrical engineering career field and attend Grove City College. He participated in LHS Musicals – recently played Willy Wonka, Choral Capers, Red Barn Theater, LHS Marching Band – Band Vice President and Tuba Section Leader, Jazz Band – Soloist, Pep-Band, LEO’s Club – Vice President, Carpenter’s Project, Drama Club – President, Screen Printing Club – President, Spanish Club – Vice President, Robotics Club, Engineering Club, and E.C. Culture Club. His achievements include Valedictorian, President’s Education Gold Award (7th-12th grade), Perfect Attendance Award (7th-12th grade), National Honors Society (11th-12th grade), Veteran of Foreign Wars Essay Competition (1st Place), AP Scholar Award

Katelyn Nicole Wehman, daughter of Tom and Carla Wehman. Katelyn plans on pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and will attend Youngstown State University Sokolov Honors College. She participated as 2022 Senior Class Treasurer, Treasurer of Senior High Student Council, Executive Board Member of Club Hope, and Varsity Softball. Her achievements include graduating in the Top 10 of the 2022 class at Lincoln High School, 2 year National Honors Society Member, Multiple President’s Education Awards for High Honors, 2 years recipient of the Society of Women, Engineers Certificate of Merit, Anthony Pietrcollo memorial Scholarship, Ellwood City Class of 1957 Essay Contest Winner, Ellwood City Rotary Club/Genevive Blank Scholarship, Howell & Lois Williams English Scholarship, Jack Butz Humanitarian Scholarship, Randy O’Brien Memorial Scholarship, Society of Women Engineers Scholarship, Turner Community Development Scholarship, and Weingartner Family Scholarship.

Luke Tyler Young, son of Ronald and Bethann Young. He hopes to secure a position designing circuitry/computer systems for spacecraft and will attend Grove City College. He participated in Victory Family Church Student Ministries Production Team Coach, National Honor Society – Member, and ECTV (Morning Broadcast) – Anchor. His achievements include Engineering Day Competition Winner, High Honor Student, Grove City College – Alumni Merit Scholarship, Grove City College – Thomas & June Singley Scholarship, and Grove City College – William Shannon Memorial Fund.
