Wolverines Earn Top Seed, Playoff Tickets Now On Sale

The “Path To The Pete” starts Monday for the Ellwood City boys basketball team as the WPIAL Class-3A Playoffs are set to begin.

The Wolverines earned a #1 seed after its 20-2 regular season. The team went undefeated in section play.

Playoff tickets will be available this week in the Lincoln High School

Student tickets are $5.00 and are available on Wednesday 2/16 and Thursday 2/17 in the high school office.  Adult tickets are $7.00 and will be available in the big gym hallway from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17th only.  Tickets can also be purchased online at www.gofan.co/app/events/544388. 

All tickets are $7.00 at gate through semifinals and tickets are $10.00 online at Ticketmaster or at gate for finals

Ellwood City opens up its WPIAL Class-3A title defense again Summit Academy (7-8 overall) on Monday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m.

The Wolverines earned a defacto home game as many top seeds are hosting their respective first round match-ups. The WPIAL 3A Championship is set to take place Friday, March 4 at the Peterson Event Center in Pittsburgh. [VIEW MORE]

Ellwood City defeated South Allegheny in last year’s championship game. South Allegheny, a 2-seed last year, enters this playoff (15-6 overall) as #5 seed. Aliquippa (15-7 overall), Shady Side Academy (15-6 overall), and Seton LaSalle (17-3 overall) round out the top four seeds.
