Born November 23, 1926 in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Geraldine Cook Boots. She was married to Wallace R. Carroll who passed away January 9, 1978. James A. Nye, 86, of Utica, PA, formerly of Rose Point, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016 at his residence in Utica. Ronald A. Houk, 67, of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016. Ron was born on Jan. 17, 1949 in Ellwood City to the late Walter “Bud” and Eleanor D. Brewer Houk. He is a member of the Laurel High School class of 1967. On March 8, 1968 Ron enlisted with the U.S. Navy and served until his discharge on Nov. 28, 1969. John T. Barr, 57, of Hardy, VA, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016.  He bravely dealt with multiple sclerosis for eighteen years. He was born in Ellwood City on April 11, 1959 to John Y. and Shirley Riney Barr, who survive. Lynn C. Stelter, 68, of Turkey Hill Rd., Wampum (Shenango Twp.) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
