Michael A. Young, 44, of Franklin Avenue, Ellwood City passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at UPMC Shadyside after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. Born in New Brighton on November 5, 1972, Michael is the son of Ernest and Linda Vannoy Young of Ellwood City. Michael graduated from Laurel High School in 1991 and Gannon University in 1995. He worked at the Lawrence County Correctional Facility as a work-release coordinator before serving as the Chief of Security for Corrections Corporation of America. Bradley S. Grinnen, 21, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Waynesburg University. Bradley was born on November 5, 1995 in Ellwood City to Deanna Sberna and John Grinnen. He had graduated from the Holy Redeemer Elementary School, and Lincoln High School with the class of 2014 where he was a standout football player and wrestler. Mrs. Buzzelli was born on April 24, 1945 in Ellwood City to the late Robert and Sara Houk Lambert. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1963. Carol had worked at Loccisano’s Grocery Store, and presently at Giant Eagle in Franklin Twp. in the customer service department. Mr. Lester C. Ruby, 93, of Koppel passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the Good Samaritan Hospice. Lester was born on December 20, 1923 in Koppel to the late Norman S. and Anna Baker Ruby. He enlisted with the U.S. Army on February 22, 1943 and served with the Head Quarter Company 2nd Battalion 71st Infantry of the 44th Division until his discharge on November 6, 1945. Michael J. Hervatine, 65 of Evans City passed away at VNA Hospice in Butler Twp. on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 6:55 AM. Ann Mozes Soltes, 98, formerly of Ellport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Franciscan Manor. Born in New Castle, PA on August 4, 1918, Ann was the daughter of the late Denes and Anna Horvath Mozes.  Ann moved to Ellport as a child, attended the Ellport Grade School and was the first in her family to graduate from Lincoln High School in 1936.  Since transportation wasn’t provided, she walked to Lincoln every day, including to her prom.  After graduation, Ann attended beauty school in St. Louis, Mo.  She returned to Ellport to open her own shop in…
